Has anyone read the article by Mike Sheahan about Shaun's reasons for leaving Adelaide? Its on the AFL site, and in today's Sunday Mail in Adelaide.
What do you think of Shaun's reasoning?

Rumour has it that both Gary ayres and Ken Judge are causing huge morale problems at their new clubs - is it a sinister plot to help Hawthorn go higher ?
As an aside, saturday's H-sun had the article with a picture of shaun outsode his new house in melbourne. But on sunday the sunday Hsun said he was busy looking for a house - perhaps they don't talk to each other at the sun ?

I agree with you Drakey.
Should the AFC award him life membership? He HAS served 10 years, but.....he's chosen to walk away when probably the Club needs all the support it can get. Also Mods desperately wanted to play a couple more years to get his life m/ship. But in his situation they said "on yer bike, son".
Ok we're all a bit pi$$ed off with shaun for giving us the flick but if he's done his ten years then unfortunately you have to give him his life membership. If they gave one to Matthew Liptak then they can't be that highly prized.
Apparently Matt Connell is training with west coast and they might pick him up. He'll probably start kicking to crows players now that they'll be the opposition.

He's a sooky sooky la la. Why would you have a smile on your face if you were playing that crap team in Melbourne. I'm glad he decided to leave.

Please Please lets not be so hypocritical.
The guy was a star fro the Crows and most fans believe he won the first flag himself when he threw off the knee brace. We all loved him and defended him against any comers if they claimed there was a better ruckman going around.
He satisfied the life membership criteria better than half the previous recipients. I too am very dissapointed that he has left but then loyalty went out the window when the AFL introduced the draft and the salary cap. I just hope for his own sake his body can stay sound and give him another 2 or 3 years.
Good luck Puss, just don't play too well against us.

I am more than happy for him to have life membership (after he retires).
But his reasons for leaving are pathetic.
If he's not for us he's against us. I don't wish him anything. He's the enemy now.
I've read the article and I'm still not sure why he left. He admitted his form and confidence was down last year so you can't blame the coach for giving him some time on the bench.
He also said that he lost confidence in his knee last time because it was his jumping knee. Why should that be any different at Hawthorn? he still has to jump on that knee. If he doesn't like the coach then just say it and don't treat those of us who followed and admired him like idiots.

I note you guys were all too happy to take Darren Jarman back the year after he won B&F at the Hawks - but I suppose you thought he was 'rightfully' yours in the first place.
With Shaun, following Fish to Hawthorn means not only filling the void as ruckman to give the hawks the majority of the 'first use' of the ball - making the Hawks one of the most effective teams in the comp - he also has to fill a void as on-field tactician - something the 'young' hawks don't have too many of.
I wish him luck (of course)

Of course he was "rightfully ours". Just like Nick Holland (hehe).
You don't complain when you steal players. Only when they get stolen.
I suppose you were happy as larry when Fudd left.
Anyway when Adelaide trades everybody wins. We got Fudd, you got Fish & the Dons got Wellman.

The Jarman case was a little bit different, as Jars WAS COMING HOME!
Shaun ain't going home. Also we didn't trade so well with him - Rehn for Bode seems a little lop-sided.
