View Full Version : Poor Gillespie
Gillespie must be one of the unluckiest blokes playing cricket but his whine about the state of the pitch which he says caused his injury to his arm is just a case of sour grapes on his part.
Every other bowler had to bowl on that same pitch and didnt have a problem with their footing.Looking at the replay of Gillespies fall seems to suggest that he fell because his body was all over the place and was careless upon delivery of the ball.
What does anyone alse think?
I actually reckon it's time that they considered replacing Gillespie with someone who can go a series without being injured..
Granted that he is a good bowler...But this in for a couple of Tests and then spend the next couple on the sidelines doesn't go well for the settling of the team....
Make him prove himself for say 6 matches before being considered again....Cause mark my words...He WILL break down (if he makes it) in the World Cup !!!
It's a sign of our litigious society that modern players look to blame conditions for injuries. Aparently these days there is no such thing as an "accident".
As for his overall fitness, I guess the ACB must be concerned that Gillespie's body does not seem to be able to withstand the rigours of International cricket and they may be forced to do something about it.

Get a clue. With the exception of McGrath and Warne, Gillespie is a class above every other bowler in the country. He is well worth the risk. I suppose you think we should also leave out Warne then?
