Who do you think are 3 not necessarily best players but players we could not win without.
(In no order)
1. David Hille, without him we would not get any clearances and be mincemeat to other ruckmen.
2. Alwyn Davey, Applies amazing forward line pressure and kicks goals.
3. Dustin Fletcher, Gives structure to our young defense and without him
we would never get the ball out of our backline from kick in effectively.
Please post your opinions on our vital 3 players. (Give reasons don'y just list)

Jobe Watson - Dont have another player that can do what Jobe does and he brings so many of our other players into the game. I would hate to watch us without him.
David Hille - One of the top ruckman in the league also with Laycock injured we have no adequate replacement.
Dustin Fletcher - Posie and leadership in the backline and sublime kicking skills, allows us to bring the ball out of defence.

David Hille - Practically our only ruck thats good enough to challenge the best
Dustin Fletcher - The king of our backline, excellent kick ins, great player.
Alwyn Davey - Amazing forward pressure (as above), and most of his tackles result in good things for us.

Hille - Provide so much ball to our midfielders, and there's not much depth in his position.
Watson - Involved in everything
Davey - his forward pressure is so so important
Fletcher - provides a cool head and a get out of jail free card (his kicking) in our backline
I can't cut any of those from the list.

Yeah, this was my three but I was too lazy to justify it (so many words, such a hangover) so I thought I'd wait until someone did my combination and then just quote them. Unfortunately, you didn't provide the justification either but you still got the combination right so screw the other words, think they're so high and mighty. I'll show you words!!!
1. Hille - Otherwise we would have to play Laycock, Bellchambers or Ryder in the ruck = Fail
2. Fletcher - Very important to the backline
3. Davey - The amount of pressure he puts going forward is amazing.
Players like Lloyd, Watson, McVeigh, Lucas are important but these 3 are most important IMO.

1. David Hille - It's scary to think how thin the ruck stocks are if he is missing. Absolutely pivotal.
2. Dustin Fletcher - Still to this day remains in my opinion under rated by opposition supporters. A general of the back line, we'll miss him when he's gone.
3. Alwyn Davey - What this guy does doesn't always appear on stat sheets. You can actually see opposition backman panicking slightly thinking he might be around.
-and-
(I couldn't keep it at three either :D)
4. Matthew Lloyd - In a matter of weeks we have seen the difference between an Essendon side without a firing Lloyd, and a side that straightens up and looks dangerous.

2. Jobe Watson
3. Andrew Lovett

1. Hille - In my opinion one of the best all round ruckman in the lead, great shot on goal and can get back to help out; experienced and helps out the young guys.
2. Mcveigh - Just a gun, we have missed him while he has been out, vital player.
3. Davey/Fletcher/Lloyd - Couldn't pick one, Davey has great forward pressue and kicks vital goals, Fletcher is able to help out down back and get us forward quickly and Lloyd is just our leader and I still want to see him at full forward!

Yeah mate, didn't post much as I was eating KFC to cure MY hang over:D, I will justify my reasoning now.
Watson and Hille are equally important, I found it almost impossible to distinguish who was more important, I think we would suffer more if Hille was out though so I went with him, Jobe is slowly becoming one of the best clearance players in the league. Hille and Watson are one of the best ruck/mid combinations in the game at the moment, we saw that last year. Lloydy has the ability to inspire, one of those players that can single handedly turn a loss to a win.
Stanton is a very important player also, he NEVER stops running and he is always one of the first to run over and pat a player on the back when they do something well, or if they just need encouragement.
I find Fletch to be important in a different way to most, I think he will be vital for educating our youngsters more than anything, his pinpoint 55m passes also help in precious situations.
Watson is our most important player imo.
Last week he stuggled early we were getting smashed. He picked his game up and the whole team improved.
I thing lovett is the 2nd most important. He is a geniune match winner, and breaks line and make things happen.
Hille or Lloyd or Davey or McVeigh all could be justified as the 3rd most important.

How anyone could leave Fletcher out is beyond me. Our record without him proves it. Defensive and kicking skills are irreplaceable.
Hille and Watson are my other two.

1. Lloyd
2. Hille
3. Fletcher
1. Fletcher - Our backline would fall apart if it wasn't for him, controls the back six, gives tasks to the others and shows how to play.
2. Hille - Although I don't think he is in our top five best players, I think he is our second most important. We all saw last year in the last two rounds how important he is and how bad we play without him.
3. Lloyd - Our leader, still is our best forward by a long way.
Still a huge issue as these are all ageing players.

It's a shame Courtney Johns is gone...

Watson- He is so vital it isn't funny. If we want to run and attack, we need Clearences, and he is the clearence King. without him we would lose by ALOT.
Hille- When he's on he's on. at his best he would be able to beat Cox, Sandilands and McIntosh, the three other best ruckmen in the competition.
Fletcher- without him our defence is screwed

Arguably two down, one to go?
Whilst you can never write us off you would think without two of our most important players we will struggle in the coming weeks.
Who are now our 3 most important players with the absence of Hille and Fletcher?
My three in no particular order:
Winderlich
Lovett
Watson

Again, you're a douche. My guess is that you're a 14 yr old Collingwood fan still pissed about Anzac day.

Jobe is our most valuable player for the exact reason you've stated. He missed 2 or 3 games last season and they were agonisingly painful to watch, especially when one was against Sydney and we had nobody to win the footy.
Watson should be in every post.. nothing without him in the middle, hard ball gets, clearances, sharks, defensive pressure. no one else has those attributes as much as jobe has. mvp for mine

Hille, McVeigh & Fletcher.
Sad isn't it?
