With the ICC Cricket World Cup starting next month, I thought I'd ask everyone to look into their crystal ball and make some predictions about what might happen in the tournament.
Winner? Australia
Runners Up? New Zealand
Other 2 teams who made Semi Finals? South Africa & England
Surprise packet of tournament? New Zealand
Biggest disappointment? Pakistan
Most Runs? Matthew Hayden - Australia
Most Wickets? Shane Bond - New Zealand
Highest Individual Score? Andy Flower - Zimbabwe
Biggest talking point during the tournament?
The return of Shane Warne from injury to lead Australia to victory in the tournament with a world class display of leg-spin bowling under pressure.
In 25 words or less, why will your team win the World Cup?
Australia has a powerful batting line up, world class bowling attack and top fielding side who play well under pressure and know how to win.
Winner? Sri Lanka

The youngsters from West Indies bringing them back to a respectable level in International cricket.

On their day, the most exciting team in the world. Starting to show glimpses and will peak at the right time.

Commentators Navjot Sidhu and Richie Benaud coming to blows during the India/Australia game.

Because they play better than anyone else at home.

Hey don't try and use logic....i said Holland would make the semis for god sake...
I don't rate Australia as a one day team....they can't catch anymore, can't field and generally can't bowl or bat.....
I do think South Africa will win though...

Australia's batting hasn't been too bad so far this summer. We scored over 300 twice, 271 after being 3 for 53 in Hobart, 260 odd after being 8 for about 180 the other night in Sydney and chased 252 successfully with about 5 overs and 7 wickets to spare in the first game.... hardly what you'd call bad batting form.
As for our bowling, it's been pretty good when we've had our best bowlers available. Once Shane Warne, Jason Gillespie and Glenn McGrath are back to full fitness, you will see our bowling return to it's usual world class standard.
As for our fielding, I think we're pretty good on the ground with the likes of Ponting, Hayden and Symonds in the squad but there are one or two players not having the best time with catches at the moment. (Bevan & Martyn)
I like the Holland prediction though... would certainly be a huge surprise. :)

Australia and Holland will make it through....
India look like they are in form again...making a sensational 122 against the Kiwis..
Pakistan will be too busy betting on themselves losing...so they are out...
England are England and won't make it...
Zimbabwe - unless they have found a few more Flowers they will struggle....
Namibia - can they be the Senegal of this World Cup? I think not...

Winner - South Africa (have to eventually !!! esp. at home)

dissapointment - India - are crap away from their flat turning dustbowls.
Most runs - Gibbs (this guy is in amazing form)
Most wkts - Shoaib Akhtar (if he stays fit) Gillespie (if he stays fit) if not then Pollock
Highest Score - Lehmann 177 (as opener Vs Namibia or Holland)
Biggest Talking Point - Ganguly sacked as Indian captain when they miss out on Super Six stage
Doubts on Australia due to injury concerns over Warne McGrath Gillespie. Poorly selected depth factor in bowling will take its toll

Biggest disappointment? New Zealand, everything at the moment points to them making an impact, well they won't.
Most Runs? Brian Lara (WI) - will do a Ronaldo and star just when everyone thought he had turn to mush, also Australian rotation policy will hamper their chances in these areas.

South Africa bat down to about 9, have a strong and balanced attack, and their biggest nemesis (Australia) seems to be be playing like a weary and unsettled side, with a few injury worries.
