Well i got a bit of a discussion going about Scott Hodges didn't I! Didn't think it would ruffle so many feathers. But I think i should set a couple of things straight.

Yes I am a Mark Stevens fan and I love him, just as you can like Scott Hodges. I made no jibes about hodges, I only asked the question. So your comments on Mark were wrong.

Yes Mark has won an AFL premiership for the record.

Probably most importantly though, I resent the fact that you called me a teenage female fan and said I don't know anything about footy I just go for a perv! Let me tell you, for a start I am 25 years old, and have been following footy for the past 20 years or so, so for the record I do know a lot about the game. I have been a crows season ticket holder and fan since the very first game and have only missed 2 home games in 10 years - so maybe you'd also rethink what you said about me.

Anyway I just had to reply, but I was pleased with yesterdays trial game and am looking forward to a terrific 2001 season.

Marksgirl, I hope you didn't take my remark seriously. It was just a cheap shot, I don't even know you. I apologise if I upset you. You still haven't told me why you love Mark Stevens though.

Finally you say your 25 and you have been a Crows supporter for ten years. I don't want to state the obvious but wouldn't that have meant you were 15 when you first saw the Crows play. http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

that is very true, the crows have only been around for 10 years, but prior to that I was a Carlton fan (and I still have a soft spot for them) and I have always followed the SANFL being a woodville west torrens fan. My dad played for woodville years ago and was just naturally followed on his advice!

mark is my fav because, he is always hard at the ball, he has terrific hands and can kick a mile - he also never gives up no matter what and he has got the rewards for his hard work - a premiership medal and a best team man award. And I'll admit it - he's cute!

QT, you fool, I have already stated on this board what Hodges has done at AFL level. Its just bad luck he had to play for a club that was anti Port.

Carb,

Just for the record, I was 15 when I started following the Crows. I received my seasons pass for the 1991 season for Christmas 1990.

Scotty Hodges...I had a soft spot for Scotty. he didnt do himself any favours at the end of 1990 with the contract dispute with the Crows. I believe he had plenty of chances with AFC. I also think his lack of success was also due to the fact that he was with such an inexperienced side. There was'nt the people at the club that had been with the team for a long period of time that could guide him like there was at Port. He was on a huge leraning curve like everyone else at Crowland. he certinly got it together after the knock to the head in that Fitzroy match in 92. That was a gutsy performance that night and the whole team got their shit together after that. He was looking good in 93 until he got injured b4 Round 1. Enter: Tony Modra... however he quit at the end of 93 due to various frustrations. he could have had an AFl career with the Bears if he wanted to but chose to stay with Port.
I think he suffered due to the expectations of on the Club and on him. I agree the supporters were anti Port but I dont think the players or coaches (despite Cornes Glenelg bias)were anti Port.

Thanks Jerome, You are 100% correct in the way you described Scott Hodges time at the Crows. I couldn't have put it into words any better.
