WESTERN Jets coach Steve Kretiuk has labelled the Gold Coast one the best teams he has seen in the TAC Cup. Kretiuk's Jets were on the wrong end of a 134-point hiding at Burbank Oval, just the Coast's second game in the competition, and first in Victoria.
It was also the new club's first win after a Round 1 loss to Eastern Ranges at Carrara.
Gold Coast kicked 18 goals to one in the second half.
"That was one of the best teams I have seen in the TAC Cup," Kretiuk said of Gold Coast. "It was like boys playing against men. You could see a lot of the (Coast) boys had a background in rugby.
"They were well-coached and well-disciplined. We will certainly be making some changes, we won't be accepting that."
In positive news for the Jets, Scott Sherlock, 19, made a successful return from a shoulder reconstruction to impress, while Jake Carr battled though the pain of a corked thigh to hold his own in the midfield.Chris Mitchell
