I dont believe that asking whether a player had improved is a negative thread, it was obviously quite coincidental that the very next game was a break out game for Ryder and I'm sure we are all thrilled.
Also not everyone is going to love each player, its a passionate sport, we are obvioulsy passionate supporters apart of being passionate is being dissapointed and angry - thats footy, its not a love fest.
Ricky Dyson was great yesterday, the best game I have seen him play, but he has played some shockers and he has been on the list a long time now and as fans we expect more consistency.

Speculation is what makes BF what it is. If a player consistently plays below someone's idea of an acceptable standard, expect the thread.
ps NLM is not goooorrrrnnneee...
yet.
Just like to give Jason Laycock a mention in this thread to. :p

I still dont really understand it, but i think after how shit we have been since making the finals in 04 i think some of our supporters have turned into negative nancys.
It angers me more than when opposition supporters slag our players off.

Are you for real??? Are there parts of your brain not attached?
Dyson was fantastic yesterday. In my view his best game. But, because he played well yesterday, we should all become apologists for him being pathetic for the last 4 years and the first 4 rounds of this year???
IMO, Dyson is one of the luckiest footballers in the league. To have played the amount of games he's played, with the minimal output that he's given in the majority of those games is one of the things about the team that gives me the sh*ts.
Well done on yesterdays game.... Fantastic. Will need to produce that consistently to be considered a good footballer by me.
The Ryder thread was reciculous, fair enough. I didn't bother comenting on it.

Justifiably so.
This isn't just a board for blind positivity. Give credit where it's warranted and asks questions when the team and players are not performing / going in the right direction etc.
The board would be a waste of time otherwise.

Not a Dyson fan but credit where credits due. His best game for Essendon by far. Two thumbs up. :thumbsu::thumbsu:
Paddy stood tall. Hopefully he takes some confidence out of that game and it is the catalyst for him going from potential star to fair dinkum star.

It's also a loyal sport. Or traditionally has been.

Perhaps we shouldn't be getting too carried away with 1 game.
However, to test this theory, someone should start a Scott Lucas thread! ;)

Spot on. There's a reason were called supporters- bagging our players has no effect on the club's list management. Sure can effect their confidence though, and reflects poorly on the rest of us.

Fair call. My take is this, I am loyal to the EFC - dead loyal.
I am loyal to great players, I am loyal to good players, I am loyal to players that have given my football club a genuine contribution over time.
Although their are players and unless you are A emotional that upset you, that frustrate you and these players will come under scrunity, these players will come under critisism.
For every supporter we have these players, I am certainly not an ignoramus and I dont go to the game and bag our players but to think that in this sport supporters are going to love everybody is naive.
