I think Brad Hogg might feel ripped off he is just discarded. Top effort, not just last night, but since the Hobart game.
His eagerness and hussle might see Warney miss out.

We could play them both in the VB Series Finals. But as soon as the WC starts, I would think Warne would be an automatic choice.

Play them both.Hogg should take Symonds spot,as Symonds is only in the side for his fielding,which Hogg can do just as good.

Fair idea. Hoggy is more useful with the ball than Symonds, as useful with the bat and full of beans in the field.
He couldn't win a game with the bat as Symonds could, but then Symonds hasn't really done so... it's tricky.
Hoggy deserves his spot though. He's the in-form player in the Australian side.

I remember a couple of weeks ago the general sentiment on this board was that Hogg was the worst ever player to play for Australia.

Hogg is by far a better bat than Symonds and Watson (at this stage) for that matter.Anyone who wrote Hogg off earlier in the series either doesnt know there cricket or had never seen him play prior to the first couple of VB games.Even when Hoggs figures have been bad he has bowled exceptionally well the problem was Srilankans play spin with there eyes closed.IMO Hoggs in the best 2 or 3 fielders in the country aswell.Its a tough one with Warney though.Possible first 11 could be providing all are fit and well

Or do you bring in Lee or Bichel for Watson or Hogg?Lehmann can bowl left armers pretty effectively aswell.I think Symonds is **** out of luck though to tell you the truth.
