View Full Version : The Cheeky Song is coming....
You have been warned!!!
I never ever ask where do you go
I never ever ask what do you do
I never ever ask what's in your mind
I never ever ask if you'll be mine
come and smile
don't be shy
touch my bum
this is life
we are the cheeky girls
we are the cheeky girls
you are the cheeky boys
you are the cheeky boys
That has got to be the worst trash song ever made.
Sadly it was written by their mums.

Then it'll fit in well with this week's top 10:
Eminem, Kelly Rowland, Holly Valance, Jay Z ft Beyonce Knowles, Delta Goodrem, Shaggy, Ja Rule feat Bobby Brown, Missy Elliott, Las Ketchup (HOW ARE THEY STILL SELLING??!!), Nelly/Kelly Rowland.
Can anyone actually tell half of that apart?

There must a ****ing lot of them buying singles to keep things in charts. I think I've bought four singles in my life, one because there was no album and wasn't going to be, one was Big Brother in 01 (hides), and two were consecutive singles from one band because I couldn't afford the album yet.

People who can't get enough of that particular song.
I use to buy singles but when ya think about it they really are a waste of money, I'd rather save up $30.00 get my ass down to HMV and buy an album.
Hate to break it to you, but Record Companies pay big time for chart positions.
I never believe a Number 1 deserved it spot unless its a song that merits it. Sadly there hasnt been a geniune No1 in a long time.

'The Cheeky Girls' were rejects on a Popstars type show in the UK called 'Popstars- The Rivals' - hence their success.
We're immune to them over here.
Yeah and I am serious when their mum penned this song for them.
One can only imagine what life would be at home for the sisters.
Apparently there is another tragic pop song coming out about two teeny bopper girls getting it on.
And they are in real life.
Record companies are moaning that the only artist to sell 10 million+ albums lately is Eminem, when 10 mil used to be a benchmark for a number 1.
They're blaming file sharing. I'm blaming the fact that they are putting out repetitive **** that only ten to 13 year olds want to hear.
This idea that marketers should get people young so they form their buying habits with your product in mind does not extend to music. The kid buys one or two singles and then hates that band until it becomes retro in 35 years and is recycled to more teenagers.
What we need is ELvis in the charts again. Oh, hang on...

I saw that clip on Saturday.
Can you tell the singers apart? They're identical twins

I buy singles mainly for B sides and live tracks. I won't however buy a single where the B sides are just the same song remixed 2 times.
ALso on that list atleast Beyonce and Kelly are damn good singers.

Doesn't extend to 35 years Bluey. Right now teenagers are being convinced that the 80's didn't happen. Hence all the rehash of really bad 80's pop culture.
All you need to do these days is grab some over paid DJ to remix an old track (see The Logical Song) and release it as a new single to the kiddies.
I still say that today's young market are the biggest suckers the world has produced. The so called self obsessed Gen Y.

To add to that, instead of bitching about file-sharing, maybe they should try reducing the price of the product and give consumers more for their money?
I don't recall a mass outcry and attempts to block cassette tape distribution and recording songs from the radio, and I don't see file sharing as anything different. If I enjoy a song, album or an artist's work, I'll buy it, and the majority of people are the same.

Oh god, don't get me started on THEM again...
Not only did they rip off the Supertramp song, but the music, references, "original" lyrics, song titles, and even their NAMES, are carbon copies of what The KLF did 12 years ago...

That would be TATU, it's got a very catchy chorus, it hasn't got the same sound as ketchup/cheeky song. And wait til you see the video;) school uniforms, lesbian kissing, rain: the perfect combo!
I used to hate the cheeky girls as much as anyone, but trust me, when you're sh*t faced in your local club and this comes on, you just have to let go and join in. This is not to be taken seriously in the slightest, everyone knows the charts are a waste of space these days anyway.
I haven't actually heard this song yet. I'll assume thats a good thing.

was thinking the same thing myself.
This song is just furthur proof of the retardation of the masses in Britain, the singles charts are appalling.A country once famed for it's contribution to poular music is reeling at the moment, people are obsessed with manafactured 'bands' from TV shows, they're all crap obviously & there's all the R&B **** like Craig David & Miss Dynamite & even the 'rock' bands lack any sort of charisma ie Coldplay, Travis.
It's not a great situation over here at the moment.

apparently the t.A.T.u. or "Ta lyubit Tu" means "This girl loves that girl" or "This one loves that one". They are the first Eastern Bloc group to sell more than a million albums in Europe, so they've done well historically. For their English-language songs, they have hooked up with British producer Trevor Horn, who has worked with Pet Shop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Seal.
