View Full Version : Essendon's future forawrdline
Hey Bombers fans,
Just watching the game tonight.
I am wondering about the future of the Bombers forwardline with Lloyd and Lucas nearing the end of their careers.
What key forward prospects do the Bombers have playing in the VFL?
Thanks

Gumbleton - Injured
Neagle - Not good enough ATM.

Micheal Still. A bit longer term project. Expect to see him next year, if not later this year. Showing a bit at VFL level.

With Pears showing form down back we could use Hurley as a forward.\
Just a thought.

Anything will be better than the Lloyd and Lucas show. It's finished.
Time to move Scotty on and let Lloyd roam at half forward with McPhee and plonk Neagle in the goal square.
Maybe Daniher can come in and play his role?

Definitley worth trying. With Hooker now in the side a a tall defender changing ruck, it is worth a shot. He was drafted as a forward according to a few. I did not see him play juniors so not sure.
I'd like to play Houli in the pocket. His lack of a defensive won't hurt as much forward, and he CAN get the pill.

I think he has stress fractures in his shins.

Good... the more injuries on our list, the better :(

Yeah, the excellent injuries last year sure shaped our season.
What was once our great strength and what looked to have a strong succession plan in place is now is our biggest concern.
Gumbleton - Horrible run with injuries and seriouse concerns about whether he will have a career.
Neagle - Has pontential but due to injuries and by reports poor attitude is not making an impact at VFL level.
Still - Raw bottom aged recruit with stress fractuires of the shins.
Ryder - We hope he becomes a ruckman/forward.
So even though we have recruited so many KPP's it looks as if we will need to recruit some more.
The future forward line isnt the problem, the current one is.

It's the current problem, not the futur problem. At least we can do something still to address the future.

john butcher from gippsland would be handy...doubt he'll last until the bombers draft pick though...
i think i'll go to church and pray that gumby comes good - a fully fit gumbleton to replace lucas would make essendon so much better (probably 6-10 goals better in my opinion).

Just decoys, our running half backs and midfielders will kick all the goals. :thumbsu:

What about Hooker playing up forward? Seems to move really well for such a big kid, any chance of him kicking a few goals for us?
