The Victorian Bushrangers have put in a shocker today against the Queensland Bulls. They were bowled out for 65 in the 30th over. In reply the Bulls have already reached the target in the 19th over with 10 wickets the spare..... A SAD DAY FOR THE VICS

I can confirm that Hookesy was there ;)

Just a shocking day all up for the Vics - nothing at all wrong with the pitch, nor exceptional bowling. Arnberger looked ok, Hodge farted around a-la Bevan for about 1/2 an hour then out of the blue danced down the wicket trying to hit one over the stand, Klinger should be shot, hit the ball DIRECTLY to short cover and called Harvey through, Harvey run out by about 6 ft without facing a ball. Arnberger and Rummans were the only batsmen to even look like they might have made a few.
Saw Hookes having lengthy talks with both Hodge and Klinger after they had gone out.
After the Bulls got the required in about 18 overs they played a super 8s game. Qld batted first and knocked up 125 all out in over 12. Moss took a pearler of a catch, ran about 20 - 30 metres and dived full length. Ian Harvey clean bowled first ball of the Vic innings - not a good day for him. Nick Jewell knocked up about 40, Brad Hodge 86 off about 35 balls (maybe less). Vics got the runs ( think 3 down) off 11 overs.
The lawn bowlers had about 6 balls come onto their greens, they ended up calling it off until the match had finished. Added some excitement to the day at least.

The Redbacks are the biggest joke in Australian Cricket. Not only dismissed twice in 9 days under 100 in a One Day match but how many sides are 7 runs ahead with 8 wickets in hand after Day 1 of a Shield game and end up losing by 250 runs. Some serious axings are in order at the end of this season.

Hard to believe that their coach, Greg Chappell, was in the running to be the Indian coach a little while back.

On what basis would he be considered? Under his control, South Australia haven't made the final of the one-day or first-class competitons in several seasons, have delivered few players as potential international candidates; also bar Lehmann and Blewett their batting is appalling.

Chappell has already stated he will leave at the end of the season, perhaps he should go now. I actually thought they would have a good year this year. Last year they were a chance to play in both finals leading into the last game. In fact they may have even led both comps with 2 or 3 games to go but fell away badly. Blokes like Smith, Rofe, Harrity had good years last year and with Higgs and Fleming (if fit) to bolster the side I was optimistic we go one step better and make a final but with the blokes I mentioned having shocking years we have struggled. The bowling I think will be OK, With kids like Kelly, Tait, Cleary, Cullen coming through. The batting is a shambles. Johnson, Fitzgerald, I know make big scores on occasions but when I see them bat they can barely hit the ball of the square, most of the time they dont look up to state level, add duds such as Ad****, Vaughan, Davies who were crap 5 years ago, and there are real problems. Hopefully Cosgrove can come through and what about Borgas (there are 2 of them I think from Sturt) they were mentioned as the next big things in SA cricket last year, where are they ?????

Spot on. Once it became clear we couldnt make the finals in either comp, I was happy to see the thrashings handed out to us. Maybe it will make people actually get of their backsides and make the hard decisions about getting rid of duds such as Vaughan, Davies and co.
But all was not lost, victoria got beaten which brought a smile. :D
