Pakistan vs. Australia
Thoughts on the upcoming game to be played early tomorrow morning.
What will our side look like?
Five guys in the squad weren't picked for the T20 World Cup Squad - Ferguson, Bollinger, Clark, North and Laughlin. Will be interesting to see if these guys get a go or we go with our best side. Remember no Warner in the side either.
Squads
Australia squad Brad Haddin (capt, wk), Doug Bollinger, Nathan Bracken, Stuart Clark, Callum Ferguson, Nathan Hauritz, Ben Hilfenhaus, James Hopes, David Hussey, Ben Laughlin, Brett Lee, Marcus North, Andrew Symonds, Shane Watson.
Pakistan squad Younis Khan (capt), Salman Butt, Ahmed Shehzad, Shoaib Malik, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal (wk), Fawad Alam, Shoaib Akhtar, Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul, Yasir Arafat, Saeed Ajmal, Iftikhar Anjum.
Stop Afridi early we win the game, let him score runs then we lose. That's how I see this game, probably even less care than what was paid to the OD series.
Have heard reports that Watto is going to bowl in this, I am not sure it is worth risking him to bowl 4 overs a most when he may get injured for another 6 months. I don't know he if he is in the Ashes fray, if he is then he really shouldn't bowl here. We all know what his run with injuries is like.

Yeah Watson's batting was very good in the ODI series and we don't really need him bowling really, especially if Hopes and Clarke are doing a good job.
Probably be good to see what Laughlin has...give him one last crack at it.
Possible line-up:
Haddin
Watson
North
D Hussey
Symonds
Ferguson
Hopes
Hauritz
Lee / Bollinger
Bracken
Hilfenhaus / Clark / Laughlin

I personally reckon Australia have a better team in terms of batting and fielding.
Bowling id say is fairly even, but I dont really rate fast bowlers in this version of the game. its more the spinner, medium/slow pacers that can slow down the rate and force the batsman to hit over the top.
What time does this one start?

What time does this one start?
May 8, 20:00 local time (02:00 EST) Pakistan v Australia at Dubai.
_____________________________
After having lost the ODI series to Australia, the sub-continent team took a lot of flak from the former players. The team would look to put the series defeat aside and try to put a good show in their T20 outing ahead of the World Twenty20 in England.
The absence of Ponting and Michael Clarke provides the ideal opportunity for the less established players in the team to make their mark. Haddin would look forward to captaining the Aussie side and lead from the front.
Sohail Tanvir was the most successful bowler during his stint with the Rajasthan Royals during 2008. He would play a key role in the T20 match against Australia. The wrong footed left-arm pacer would be the ideal choice in the dry conditions at Dubai.
Nathan Bracken the left-arm seamer had an average outing during the recent ODI series. He would hope for his swing to return and get back to his wicket taking ways and rattle the batsmen.

I get the feeling Dean Jones thinks North should have held on at first slip.

Buchanan reckons Australia should have tried to get the likes of Warne, Hayden and Gilchrist back for a one off T:20 WC jaunt.

Right about now not the worst idea in the world.

Groin.
Wont play IPL and will fly back to Australia and assess the extent of the injury. In doubt for 20/20 World Cup.

Which is more cruel?
Jumps racing in Victoria or Shane Watson playing cricket?
If Watson was a horse he would have been dog food years ago.

How was Binga? Had some nice figures and read that he reached 149kph on his very first ball which North dropped at slip.

Sheesh, was in sparkling touch too.
:(
Geez what was that? Pakistan is one of the worst major nations in the world, the Aussies keep getting worse and worse. England is mauling WI atm, the Ashes will be returned to the English once again.

So our form in a meaningless T20 at the end of a tiring and boring series of games is an indication of how we'll perform in the Ashes? You fail.

No he didn't.
Did it while batting and then did not take the field during the next innings.

The guy gets injured getting out of bed. Just cannot take a trick. Time to revive Ian Harvey's career.
