Attitude based?

Australians have generally had a very attacking attitude towards cricket, i think it's a good thing we play good cricket. Having a spinner of the genius of Shane Warne (and another decent leggie in Macgill as back up) has obviously aided this. Currently we dont seem to have a test standard spinner, but is this partly due to not being able to cop and Australian side playing a defensive off spinner. We see other nations do this, Paul Harris for example and even Ashley Giles back during Englands fleeting golden period. Are we too proud to do this, play some nuffy like Hauritz just as a hold up the end type bowler too support the quicks until we can produce a decent leggie again.

Partly, but more importantly, we don't breed decent spinners because of the pitches in Australian domestic cricket.
