Surprised no-one has started a thread about Wednesday night's show thus far! What did people think? I thought they were bloody fantastic- Dave Grohl's a legend and Taylor Hawkins is an amazing drummer! What a fantastic, high energy show. For mine, Mr. Grohl's group has already surpassed a certain band for which he used to play drums... oh dear, that's bound to 'stir the pot' a little... Comments?

Hehehehehehe :)

I would have gone, but for the absolutely ****ing ridiculous ticket price. Shame really.

I went! :D

Foos were brilliant! Crowd really got into it, I noticed especially during Monkey Wrench. Great to hear 'New Way Home' and 'Exhausted' live...Melbourne were pretty lucky I reckon. I saw a picture of the setlist and 'Wattershed' was on it but they didn't play it...wonder why?
'Everlong' was the perfect way to end the evening. I walked out of that shoebox of a hall pretty happy. Gotta love it when Dave did a bit of 'guitar surfing'. :)

Absolutely mind blowing. I thought their BDO set was a religious experience, but it was nothing compared to their sideshow at Festival Hall. When Dave left his guitar on the speaker after guitar surfing, I kept saying "if that's there at the end, I'm going to get it" - I wanted that guitar! Unfortunately he used it later. Everlong is the perfect closer, they used it at both BDO and Festival Hall. I don't mind, it's my favourite Fooies song. :)

Line of the night from Dave: "No, we're not going to play Big Me, so you can put those ten year old Menthos packets back."

I went! Best night of my life!

I'm still speechless! I'll comment when I come back down to earth! Still not over the fact that they played an electric version of Exhausted for the first time in like 5 years! That's my fav song!

It was really good how they came out and played 4 or 5 hits to begin with, rather than making everyone wait. "Hero" went off, and "Hey, Johnny Park!" was good. My only complaint is that they didn't play "Learning To Fly", but it was a great show.

Fair enough comment...I was mortified when I rocked up to Ticketmaster and they told me $70- considering some tix to see the Stones were $70- and whether you like the Stones or not, they have 'legend'' status. Let me tell you, Foos tix were worth every cent. Strongly recommend you catch them next time round.

I'd certainly like to see them next time, when my finances will hopefully be a bit better. :) I just can't see how the promoters can justify charging that much for any band at Festering Hell. It's a complete rip-off. Great show for $70, but would be an even greater one for $40-$50!

The weird part about it is that even though the 'Festering Hell' moniker is richly deserved, the fact that it was hot, grungy and sweaty in there made me feel like I had really been to a rock concert...unlike the slightly sterile arena rock venues...

Yeah I agree - I'd actually much rather watch a band there than at an arena.
