Well, we've recruited Wayne Brittain to be a part of our coaching panel. After coaching the Blues to last place in 2002, how do you feel about the move by the club to 'secure' his services?
Would you rather him be at Richmond this year, or elsewhere?

Agree t.o.o. He'll also help tactics wise which is another area we to improve on. Can't go into a game or even a season with plan A then when that doesn't work the whole team falls apart.
A good stand in just in case their is a mid year sacking

He's good at the setting up the midfielders & he is good at teaching the young blokes too...:) :D
Britts was a fine assistant coach. In fact in 2000, he was match-day coach when we finished 2nd. He'll be good for you. But he can't motivate players and uses a negative gameplan of flooding, and possession wasting. In 2001 he was alright, but we had several close games we probably should have taken - there's the lack of motivation. This was evident in 2002... he just can't handle the pressure.
That's why he makes a bad senior coach. But as an assistant, he's very good.

I agree with thrawn here on Brittain, I have never been a big fan of his and think he was a major reason in Carlton's poor performance last year.
He is not a Coach for the main job. As an assisstant things may be different, being an assisstant may be his forte, i hope it is.
I think that too many people felt sorry for him at the end of last season rather than looking directly at his real ability and therefore he has gotten the sympathy vote from alot of people and john elliot was looked upon as the bad man.
He is not tough enough and does not have the presence to lift and motivate a side and that was very obvious last year, his decisions on game days were atrocious and often bizzare to say the least.
I hope he has very little to do with decision making on game days and his imput is restricted only to skills coaching.
These are very tough comments i know, but i have observed his methods over the last couple of years and i am not impressed, however things can change, people can change, and if he has been satisfactorily motivated and offended by the actions of the Carlton football club in sacking him, then all the better for us, because maybe he might think he needs to prove a point, i certainly hope so because otherwise we may be looking at an impending disaster.
