View Full Version : Favourite Simpsons Episode
Mine would have to be the one called "Stark Raving Dad",it's
when Homer gets put in a mental hospital because he wore a pink shirt (:D ), he rooms with a fat bald guy who thinks he is Micheal Jackson (Micheal Jackson actually did do the voice of that fat bald guy). When he gets out out of the hospital he takes Leon with him (The fat bald guy) to his house. But Bart thinks he is the real Micheal Jackson so he then proceeds to ring everybody up about "Micheal Jackson" coming to his house, but when Leon gets out of the car the crowd that came to see Micheal Jackson get angry and so does Bart. But while Leon stayed in the house he did Bart a big favour by helping Bart to write a song for his sister called "Happy Birthday Lisa." When he finishes the song he goes back to his normal deep voice and tells them that he spoke like that because he found he was less angry when he spoke in a higher tone of voice.
I thought it was a brilliant episode because it was the start of when The Simpsons became really good. Also the way Homer got in to that institute because of the pink shirt and the fact Leon was actually voiced by Micheal Jackson was even better. I would give this episode a 10/10.
What is your favourite episode of The Simpsons and why?

I do not know the name of it, but it is the episode in which they vote on proposition 21 (or something) to vote out all non-american born citizens of springfield. It starts with a bear attack and follows with the cleverest conversation in Simpson's history between Homer and Lisa concerning the new Bear Patrol.
If you've seen it, you'll know.

Hmmmm.........There's to many to choose from.
ie
Lisa's Pony
Bart's Dog Gets An F.
Three Man an a Comic Book
Lisa's Sax
The episode where Bart fly's the Kite at Night with the pools in it???? (Can't remember the name of the episode) damn
And the episode were Bart, Milhouse, Nelson etc become a pop band.
I suppose the episode I like the most is were Homer is the "Beer Baron" (not going to explain, if you are a fan of the show you will know)
But I will say this though it's the most amazing thing that he has done! So it gets my vote :D

"The Gun" (Soccer match, martial law, Homer guts gun for self-defence) :
"Oh, I see Bart gets to have a gun."
-------
"I swear, Marge, I never thought you'd find out."
-------
{Homer goes to get gun}
{Gun-seller advises of the cooling off period before he can pick it up}
Homer : But I'm angry now.
{Gun-seller refuses to give him gun}
Homer : Ooh I'd shoot you if I had my gun.

Homer the Beer Barron.
Has some great quotes in it.
Homer waiting outside Moe's at 7am.
"Come on! Its been St Patrick's day for hours and im still not drunk yet!"
The Last Temptation of Homer
Homer has Colonel Klink as his guardian angel
Bart wears glasses, heavy shoes, and has a werid voice and is let in to the nerds hang out.
Homer goes to the Energy convention with Mindy.
A truly brilliant episode.

i would agree and say that the micheal jackson episode is the best. there is even a bit where it gets a
little blue by simpsons standard.
when homer is given some medication and the doctor says relax and you will fall asleep , homer asks how and the doctor says think of things you like , homer says mmmmm football, chocolate, boobies zzzzz.
I love all the Halloween episodes. I quite fond of the one where Kang and Kordos take over the bodies of Bill Clinton and Bob Dole.

So many:
I'll just pick 3 favs:
Lisa's Wedding: Just all round good
Stark Raving Dad: Have to agree. When Marge rings the helpline and the music when on hold is "Crazy" and Lisa's final line "You're a credit to dementia." are notable oments. BTW Michael Jackson did not do the voice, but he wrote the birthday song.
Behind the Laughter: Homer 'adjusting' M.C.Hammer's sign and, again, the final line from Huckeberry Hound "I was so gay, but I couldn't tell anyone!"
Fall Out Boy
4 Feb 2003, 19:43
Don't know the name of it, but its the episode where Marge befriends the gay man and Homer then gets worried that Bart is gay as well.
"He didn't give you gay did he?"
'Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?' is a great episode as well. Just finished listening to the commentary from this one on my Season 2 DVD boxset.
Kamp Krusty would be my overall favourite (seen every episode at least 2 times each). Other classics are Lisa's Sax, Dancin' Homer, The Secret War of Lisa Simpson and the one about Grandpa and Mr Burns at war.

I like the monorail episode...
Well sir there's nothing on earth like a genuine bona-fide electrified six-car monorail!
What'd I say?
Monorail!
What's it called?
Monorail!
That's right - monorail!
Monorail... monorail...
I hear those things are awfully loud.
It glides a softly as a cloud!
Is there a chance the track could bend?
Not on your life my Hindu friend!
What about us brain-dead slobs?
You'll all be given cushy jobs!
Were you sent here by the devil?
No good sir I'm on the level!
The ring came off my pudding can!
Take my penknife, my good man.
I swear it's Springfield's only choice.
Throw up your hands and raise your voice!
MONORAIL!

MONORAIL!
Once again?
MONORAIL!
But Main St is all cracked and broken...
Sorry mum, the mob has spoken.
MONORAIL!
Im trying to think of a favourite one, but I'm getting Simpson's overlaod trying to think of one.
My favourite season is season 5. Classics such as:
Cape Feare
Rosebud
Homer goes to College
Homer the Vigilante
Bart's Inner Child - ruddeger!
Bart gets an elephant
Burn's Heir
Season's 5 and 6 are the best seasons.
The one where Selma takes the kids to Duff Gardens, and Homer gets sick from eating the huge sandwich.
"Look, its the seven duffs!! Surly!! Tipsy!! Queasy!! And Remorseful!!"
"Legend of the dog faced woman!!! Oh thats good!!"
The one with Frank Grimes ("or 'Grimey' as he liked to be called!)
The one with Rodney dangerfield playing Mr Burns Son'
"Whoa, hey thanks for stopping, it was rough out there. tHe only car that stopped was the hearse that thought i fell out. It was rough i tell ya".

Top 3 -
3- The Simpson's go to the Flanders holiday house. Lisa becomes cool, Homer throws fireworks in the dishwasher. It has my favourite Simpsons quote of all time "Sweet merciful crap - my car"
2- Beer barron
1- The Simpsons enter the witness relocation program and become the Thompsons. Those who know the episode will know the "I think he's taking to you" sequence, and of course Sideshow Bob and the rakes.
The Monorail epsoide would have to be one of the funniest for sure.
Homer: I call the big one bitey
And also the gun one...when Homer went on that big rant to Lisa about the King of England pushing them around if they didnt have a gun just cracks me up everytime. :D

In tribute to The Simpsons reaching their 300th episode in America, 'Entertainment Weekly' has done a listing of what it thinks are the best Simpsons episodes ever.
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/commentary/0,6115,417748~3~0~25bestand1,00.html
Their Top 10 choices aren't too bad, even if No. 1 choice 'Last Exit to Springfield' is marred by having to hear Lisa sing.
My personal favourites involve what I think is the best teaming on the show - Monty Burns and Homer:
- Ep where Bart is forced to give blood to save Burns' life. Favourite bit is when Homer goes to the post office:
Homer - Hello. My name is Mr. Burns. I believe you have a letter for me.
Man behind counter - Certainly Mr. Burns. And what is your first name?
Homer - I don't know.
Other classic Homer/Burns eps include 'Rosebud' and the one where Homer is Burns' assistant while Smithers goes on holiday.

With FOX and free-to-air, it's on high rotation.
1. Homer becomes a missionary after pledging $ to watch more PBS .. and builds a casino corrupting the natives etc etc . 'But I don't believe in Jeebus ! "
2. Kamp Krusty
3. George Bush as a neighbour "Any questions ? .. I already explained about the hair "

Some of my faves in no particular order...
Radio Bart - When Timmy O'Toole (AKA Bart) falls down the well.
Homer at the Bat - The Softball Game
Hynpotist: You are all very good players...
Team: [entranced] We are all very good players...
Hypnotist: You will beat Shelbyville...
Team: We will beat Shelbyville...
Hypnotist: You will give one hundred and ten percent...
Team: That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give...
And the song at the final credits - great.
"Well, Mr. Burns had done it
The power plant had won it
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while
Mike Scoscia's tragic illness made us smile
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the barroom tile
We're talking softball
From Maine to San Diego
We're talking softball
Mattingly and Canseco
Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw
Steve Sax and his run-in with the law
We're talking Ho-mer,
Ozzie, and the Straw"
Mr Plow - Great episode - "The forecast calls for flurries of passion, followed by extended periods of gettin' it on.''
Marge v The monorail - As mentioned, a classic
Simpson & Delilah - "Demoxinil!!!"
Burns: None of these cretins deserves a promotion!
Smithers: It's in the union contract, sir. One token promotion from within per year.
Burns: [indicating the security monitor] Wait, who's that young go-getter?
Smithers: Well, it sort of looks like [chuckle] Homer Simpson, only more dynamic and resourceful.
Burns: Simpson, eh?
And many more, most of which have already been mentioned anyway (as have most of those above, I suppose)...
EDIT: Found the words to the song in the final credits and posted them above.
Don't know the name of the episode, but all these are from it.
[Homer thinking] Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan.....
Lenny sticks a pencil in Homers butt crack
[Homer] "Hey - you've broken my concentration"
[Homer thinking again] Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan, Lisa needs braces - Dental plan....
When Mr Burns is trying to negotiate with Homer, and he thinks he's cracking onto him.
or when Homers desperate for a leak in Mr Burns basement with all the dripping water & water references.
The episode where Homer's an astronaut has a few good lines in it.
Ever noticed how there's at least 5 or 6 episodes with Planet of the Apes references - must have been one of Matt Groenings favourite movies.

love just about all the episode, however i found a couple of the episodes from a couple of seasons ago a little bit strange and or very stupid. thats not to say i don't like this episodes but they are probably the only ones i don't mind missing. back on topic, my best/favourite episode would have to be "22 short films about springfield" very clever and very funny, as is "trilogy of error" the episode where marge cuts off homer's thumb but also has two unrelated acts that all come together at the end. of the halloween episodes, i love all these episodes, but my favourite ones would have to be "homega man", "fly vs fly", "dial z for zombie" and all of THOH V.
my other tops would have to be, in no order, "and maggie makes three", "grampa vs sexaul inadequacy", "homer vs the city of new york", "whacking day", "saturdays of thunder" and "bart the general"
That homega man and flyvfly episode is brilliant when Homer puts one of the machines in the lounge room and the other in the toilet. And when he is buying it off Frink there is some great lines.
Last nights episode may now have my favourite Simpsons line ever. When Bart and Milhouse are reinacting a scene from and old Batman episode and Bart ties Milhouse to the roundabout and gets otto to spin it really fast they show Milhouse and something comes out of his top pocket and then he says the killer line which is
"MY CHANGE PURSE"
I'm laughing right now, it was pure Milhouse.

My personal top 10:
Krusty Gets Busted
One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish
Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment
Bart the Lover
Itchy & Scratchy: The Movie
Mr. Plow
Duffless
Last Exit to Springfield
Lisa's Wedding
Bart Sells His Soul
Otherwise, just about anything from the second, third and fourth seasons.
I find the last five years of the show have been very disappointing. They have started relying on the type of humour that they used to ridicule and parody.
For those that were interested, tonight Fox8 showed the best 8 Simpsons episodes of all time, from 8 through to 1. It was shown from 7pm to 10pm.
For what it's worth, I can't list my favourite episode. There have been so many classicss. I love the show to death.

And one that not many people would have seen, is from the last series called "Motherlovin' Sugar Factory" where Springfield gets named America's fattest town and it's all down to their addiction to sugar.
Homer: I'm not docking this boat, until I see the Oompa-Loompa!!"
Apart from the classics from the earlier seasons my favorites are the one when Homer goes to work for Scorpio, the nightboat episode (story of maggies birth) and the Pinchy episode (homer raises a lobster). Also the College episode is a good one aswell.

This question is like asking 'what is your favourtie beer?'
So many great ones to choose from.
One episode that was my favourite for a long time was the one where Bart gets punished and is banned from seeing the Itchy and Scratchy movie. So many classic quotes..
Grandpa: "Mmmpfhph"
Homer: "If you don't start talking properly we'll put you in a home"
Grandpa: "You already put me in a home!"
Homer: "OK we'll put you in the crooked home we saw on 60 Minutes"
Grandpa: "I'll be good"
Homer: "There was this one time where I wanted a catchers mitt but my dad wouldn't get it for me, so I held my breath until I passed out and banged my head on the coffee table. Doctor thought I might have brain damage."
Bart: "Dad, what's the point of this story?"
Homer: "I like stories."

I hadn't seen 'Homer Goes to College' for ages until I saw it tonight, but while it isn't the best constructed episode, it's probably the funniest one I've seen.
There's virtually a laugh in it every 20 seconds. Amazing.

Certainly is a good episode:
Snake: Uh, wallet inspector.
One of the nerds: Oh, here you go. I believe that's all in order.
Snake: I can't believe that worked!
Homer: Hey...that's not the wallet inspector!
and...
Homer: Hello Dean, you're a stupid head!
Dean: Homer, is that you?
Homer: Aahhh!
and...
Marge: An A+! How did you do it?
Homer: Oh, let's just say I had help from a little magic box.
Marge: You changed your grade with a computer?
Homer: D'oh!
Also that show that Homer watches, which has that Nerdlinger with the Bra Bomb.

Krustys' Home Pregnancy Test (Warning - may cause birth defects)
That car Homer test drives from Crazy Vaclav: Put it in the 'H'!
The Crash Test Dummy exhibit from the same episode (Mr. Plow):
Lisa: Wait, that's not a dummy!
Man: This exhibit is closed!
The Balloons that Homer gives to the Cherry Picker Operator:
Homer: These are for you if you let me use your cherry picker.
Operator: Hmm, I've already got some but they're not this nice. Deal!
The super glue that Homer gives to Bart from the same episode (Lost our Lisa)
Homer: Hope this stuff holds!
Later, when Marge reads the super glue after Bart sticks the items to his face:
In case of ingestion, consult a mortician.
Lisa: Stupid bus, it can't even go to the place it's supposed to stupid go!
