We all know what happens the week after a coach gets sacked......

RICHMOND and its coach Terry Wallace may have parted ways after a series of emergency meetings yesterday and last night.
It is believed the players were upset about Wallace's post-match critique of the team after Sunday's loss to Port Adelaide.
Wallace did not return calls from the Herald Sun last night.
Players spoke to Wallace about the closed-doors address yesterday.
The veteran coach was not immediately available for comment, failing even to return calls from close friends last night and this morning.
Wallace has been under enormous pressure since an embarrassing loss to Carlton in Round 1, with Richmond languishing in 15th position with just one win.

Jade Rawlings tipped to be caretaker coach.
bloody hell!!
Ive been worried about this game for weeks.... the Tigers seem to have the wood over us of late... plus our tendency to loose the easier games... AND NOW THIS!!
I might put 20 bucks on the tigers for the win..... that should stitch em up...

If we can't win this game after they played interstate in heavy conditions and they are low on confidence, new coach or not, then we don't deserve to play finals.

Exactly. You'd like to think though that all this turmoil will affect the players. Its been going on for a while now and i don't think the Richmond players can just put it behind them so easily and get on with the job.
The players will be reeling for a couple of days.

Spot on the money.
If were to be taken seriously, we need to beat teams that are around the bottom. No use beating the Hawks and pushing the Saints if we get rolled by the Tigers.

What the key issue here for me is how mentally weak some of these Richmond players must be to have a massive whinge about Wallace due to, in my opinion, a well deserved spray after losing a game they pretty much had in the bag. What did they expect to Terry to say or do after that game?
Not only this but losing to Carlton by 14 goals in their first game of the year after going in as favourites, losing to Melbourne, losing to Brisbane by 5 goals after being 5 goals in front... sounds like the problems run really deep down there!
New coach or not, if we come to play - we should win.

Everyone here needs to make sure they take Richmond in their tips.
If you're inclined to bet, do as sealz has said and throw $20 on the Tigers to win.
We need to beat this thing.
I knew this was going to happen. :(

All you doomsday posters TAKE NOTE
The Bombers need this type of game so we can see how we can take pressure .There is nothing worse than a " soft " game , especially when your rebuilding a team .If the Bombers cant beat Richmond this week then the weaknesses will be exposed and rectified.
There is NO reason why the Bombers cant beat Richmond this week .
The Bombers attitude has to be sorted out asap before the match by the coach etc.

Fair point strategy. You wouldn't expect for a minute that Geelong or StKilda would lose to the Tigers this week.
If we don't win, it's just a sign of where we're at.
He hasn't been sacked anyway.
Meaning he walked away?? or the whole story is a beat up??
Because its sounds like he had little choice..

Because its sounds like he had little choice..Nothing's actually been confirmed. It's all speculation at this stage.
Wallace under cloud
UPDATE 11:33am: TERRY Wallace's future at Punt Rd is up in the air with conflicting reports coming from Richmond
It is believed the senior players had a robust discussion with Tigers president Gary March this morning, confiming that Wallace has their full support.
Tigers captain Chris Newman and football manager Craig Cameron will have a press conference at midday today.

What a totally shambolic episode.
This is fairly embarrassing for them. We need to take advantage of their obvious mental weaknesses this weekend.

The best news from an Essendon perspective is that you would hardly expect the Tigers to have been training at 100% today.
If you don't put in duriing the week you will get found out on the weekend.

It'll be a joke if we don't smash them now.
The only joke is on the pumpkins who believed a Herald sun article by your boy robbo who then pulled his name of the article and had it replaced by "staff writer".
What was the source again robbo ? terry was not answering calls from friends so therefore he was sacked - what a pisser !:D
All that matters in this is that we get the win on Sat night.

Just to make 100% clear he has NOT (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/05/19/2574726.htm) been sacked.
Terry Wallace has kept his job as coach of Richmond despite speculation this morning that he and the Tigers had parted ways.
Wallace did not attend training this morning, sparking rumours he had been been sacked by the club.

When I read "Exclusive: Wallace sacked" I thought "it's about time", however as soon as I read the article it was all speculative 'journalism', based on the failure of RFC members to return phone calls. Brilliant journalism.
