Looking at the form of the players leading into the World Cupit's be difficult to see any alterations from this side playing the first game (and any important ones throughout the tournament)

Gilchrist
Hayden
Ponting
Martyn
Lehmann
Bevan
Hogg
Warne
Lee
Gillespie
McGrath

On a side note - it's interesting that 9 of these 11 players are in our first choice test side .

Lehmann won't be in the first XI for the opening match.

You're right - Maher will play in the first

I was meaning who was our top site on form - but thanks for picking me up on that.:o

Yep agree with you larrikin. But we effectively have 3 seamers and 3 spinners (including Lehmann). Martyn may well be needed to bowl occasionally.

I thought Michael Bevan would miss the first couple of games with his groin injury. Darren Lehmann still has one match of his five match suspension to serve but should return for the Nambia game.

Don't we play India second?

Thanks for that Jars458, no idea why I thought we played Nambia in our second match.

That's interesting that all our games are day games as it means the dew at night wont be a factor and therefore Warne and Hogg will be able to spin and control the ball better.

Better hope that Bevan is OK for the Pakistan game, otherwise we will only be going in with 5 batsmen with Symonds coming in at 6. The way Symonds is batting, I would only have him ahead of Gillespie & McGrath in the batting order.
