Thursday 27th February - Australia vs Nambia [BlockBuster Game of the World Cup!] :D

This Jacques Rudolph bloke sounds ok... "blasted 150 off just 141 balls" according to CricInfo.

Aus 5/262 after 44. Need 16 to win from 36. Maher 64* Hogg 23*. Gilly made about 60-odd, even Symonds made runs, about 30-odd. India lost to Kwa-Zulu Natal. Pakistan also look like losing. Wonder if there is betting on these games.

One of the Namibian bowlers is going to play in the cricket world cup & then beef up a bit & play in the Rugby Union world cup, some achievement there I feel.

Australia managed to win pretty comfortably in the end.

Atleast we didn't lose like India and Pakistan.

Where was Gilly fielding?

Should have brought himself on for a bowl, couldn't have done much worse than Warne, Hogg and Symonds.

Pretty remarkable, although Namibia isn't that big a country, their population is only about a couple of million I think, so if you're an elite athlete, you could probably pick your sport.

Interesting to see they have won both matches against RSA provincial opposition. They might surprise a few people, particularly seeing as though you would think they would be used to the conditions with Namibia being only next door to South africa.

Good luck to them, if 1 of the 3 qualifiers can be competitive and prove to be a worthy addition to world cricket, then the ICC has done it's job.

I'm pretty sure Jacques Rudolph was on the last South African tour of Australia and was the player who was unable to play in the Sydney test because of South Africa's rule of having to include two coloured players so therefore Justin Ontong played instead of Rudolph.

I think you're right I knew I'd heard the name before.

Yeah I agree but the fact that both teams actually qualified kinda makes his achievement pretty worthwhile.
