Possibly the most important player not in the team on our list that is available this season.

“Jason played a good 60 minutes and we were really pleased with his performance given he hasn't played at all this season,” Essendon assistant coach Gary O’Donnell said. “He was the biggest positive from the game as far as our senior side was concerned.”

I predict a massive second half of the season from Laycock and vindication for Knights for showing the faith! :thumbsu:

Aww, I thought he played the whole match (getting second bog for Bendigo, guess we were just really shit.)

Wouldn't have minded him playing the match this week if he had played more than 60 minutes.

Speed recovery please.

Why would you post that pic? It just looks like Laycock is copping a feel of Cox's pectoral... and sticking his tongue out in excitement.

Not the best way to pump him up IMO.

lol, agreed.

i'm happy bellchambers has been getting some game time but it's time to see if laycock can put together a solid second half to the season.

ryder, unfortunately, will burn out sooner rather than later due to his young body. so the sooner laycock's back and dominating the ruck the better.

prefer ryder as our #1 utility player. ruck when needed, forward when needed, loose man in defence when needed. can play anywhere. even gets a fair few clearances would you believe it!

it's early days yet, but is there room for Laycock in the team once hille returns? 2 ruckman (and slow ruckman, let's be honest) + paddy = enough fast players to rotate through the midfield???

Great news. Always had faith but I'm still not expecting too much after no pre season to speak of. Still be great to see him back because Bellchambers is a few years away.

i for one have always had faith in the big ol' **** even last year against Adelaide Crows (we lost btw) but he didn't play that bad. hopefully he pulls his socks up higher this time and proves to knighter, the players and the supporters that he is the goods and if not - THEN we can give him hell.

25 May 2009, 21:09
Yeah, i remember i had given him quite a lot of shit last year.
Dropping so many marks in front of goal. (vs Geelong)

But nearing the end of the year, he was starting to make some contributions, then he got injured when Hille got injured. (so unlucky.)

But Now, he'll be playing for his career, and i'm pumped.

Got to wonder what the consequences are IF he were to get injured again.

How long is he out for and what's he done now?

In almost 60 games of footy you can could the amount of great ones with one hand.

He's just lucky Bellchambers hasn't done much, otherwise we would be saying Lay...who?.

first sentence=what?

And he has shown some glimpses of brilliance, when he gets back, he'll show us all.

I think he meant:

That's the problem with Laycock. Every now and then, he takes a ripper contested mark and drills the 50m set shot.

If it weren't for flashes of brilliance with him he'd be on the scrapheap and we'd have forgotten about him.

AndyLesPaul
26 May 2009, 09:49
Presumeably so,
But he's not in a scrapheap as of currently, because people that were against him last year actually want him in the side ;)

Then again, if he has 3 shit games in a row, then he will be in the gun again.

Even if Laycock plays the same as he did last year he's still a better option then Bellchambers. T-Bell needs to develop at Bendigo and will likely not be afl standard for another couple of years.

Laycock has always stood up without Hille in the side and think he may do so again.

work 50/50 w/ Ryder for the rest of the season, and we dominate the ruck
