Im fairly sure at the start of the year we only had the one, David Hille. Due to our good form this year, i was wondering of we may have more now. I would have:
Jobe Watson
David Hille
Paddy Ryder
Lovett
Maybe:
Stanton
Winderlich
Lloyd

First of all, Who cares about mikes top 50. It's clearly biased
And David Hille wouldn't be in it
Watson
Winderlich
Ryder
Lovett
in that order too

I know its biased as hell. But hey, I would like to see as many Dons players in it as possible. Simply - its good media and I respond positively to seeing Dons in it -
My 09 list:
Watson
Ryder
Lovett
Dempsey
Winderlich
The ommision of Hillie is fair given his 09 form before he went down was scratchy.

he loves lovett, so he'd be there.
maybe only winderlich and ryder other than that.
I Think Jobe would be in at the moment... and Paddy
Possibly Lovett...the list is still underated...
and yea... mike is a massive tool.

I agree with this.
Watson & Winders would deff be in it, maybe Ryder and Lovett.

Who cares? The Op or any of us for that matter could make a better top 50 than Mike.
First of all, IIRC, we didn't have ANY players in his top 50 - inc Hille. Now, I may have missed it, but I know I was pretty p***ed because here was a guy who many siad should have been AA and Sheehan didn't include him.
Secondly, although I agree a couple should now be there, I don't think we'd have any in his list. I think he's a tool who tends to jump on bandwagons (should be a Carlton supporter). Loves whoever is the flavour of the moment and whilst the "team" is getting plenty of favourite press, I don't think any real individual is at the moment, so he wouldn't have jumped onto any of them yet.

I think the list is a joke and Sheehan is a tolld also. The point i was trying to make is that its the only list of its kind at the moment.
Hille should have been AA last year and has a quiet 4 games to start the year. I still think he is worthy of a sport.
Watson for sure is in it.
We had 0 in his top 50. He thought that Grant Birchall would be better than every player on our list this season.....

ROFLCOPTER:p
Assuming that players hold their form for the remainder of the year - I suggest that Watson is a Lock and that Lovett is a good chance.
WE might better to discuss who may make the AA team !

Currently Watson could get an AA, maybe on the bench. I can't see any other Essendon player getting AA.

Jobe Watson would be on the list now, clearly one of the best in and under players in the comp, Lovett would also be on the list, a linebreaking damging midfielder who kicks goals, and has won games by himself. Paddy Ryder may possibly make it if he continues his outstanding few weeks, and Winders is really coming on in leaps and bounds, so that would possibly be all.
I really do not rate Dempsey as high as some on here, yes he has all the attributes to become a very very good player, but TBH i really dont think he has been that outstanding, apart from the game against Carlton, I dont think he has been in our top three players in any of our wins at all. Yes it is great to see him on the park, and he is only going to get better, but come on guys really, has he been that good?

Currently only Ryder and Watson would be pushing strongly, with Lovett an outside chance.

If only we had someone as good as Michael Osborne. My mate reckons even Michael Osborne had a good laff when he was included, since he's not even in Hawthorn's top 10

Jobe watson....
As Mike has a man crush on Lovett...maybe..
It is not the point of the thread I know.
Hopefully none because I couldn't give a shit about anything Sheehan has to say.
The guy has not made one astute observation about the football in the 15 years I can remember him making comments. He is utterly reactive and a follower of popular opinion. I like to read his summaries in Monday's sun to have a laugh. His blind obedience to popular opinion is summed up by the amount of 'we got it wrong' appears in a column. Maybe we could give him the credit of creating inaccurate perceptions that he can then go back on or use to show that he was correct. I don't give him that much credit.
Sheehan is either not smart enough to understand the game or blindly follows the opinions of others. Either way he is a complete dud.
How he got to the position he is currently in is completely beyond me.
The only commentator that gets close to Sheehan's level of contradictory garbage is Robert Walls.
There is only one opinion that matters in the footballing media and that is the opinion of the ex-coach (Walls aside).

I recokon Walls surpasses Mike in the no idea stakes...
I recokon Walls surpasses Mike in the no idea stakes...Yeah I agree with that. Sheahan, while a sensationalistic trend-following muppet, still at least knows players outside of Carlton and Jarrad Waite. Walls has very limited knowledge of the league, as evidenced by calling our star Back Flanker "Courtney Dempster"; yet he speaks in that unwarranted omniscient manner, and it's very clear that it pains his colleagues to refer to him during games.
