The West Indies tests should be played at Melbourne and Sydney that is the better series.

Not the best fixture ever.
Surely there should be some cricket in early Novemeber? Well, I guess there's time for First Class cricket for the international players.
3 T20s. Talk about an overkill. 2 is enough. I don't get why the Aussies play the Windies in Melbourne ODIs twice. Yu'd think they'd have one in the Pakistan series as well.
I think it'll be an all time low on crowds as well.

WI play two one-dayers in Melbourne, ugh.
Why not have Pakistan and WI in the two ODI's in Melbourne .
I wish Adelaide got a T20, suits the ground well.

Thankfully the boxing day Test is against the Pakistani's.
Spewing we don't get to see the Pakis in a one dayer in Melbourne. I don't even want to go see the Windies once, let alone twice. What's up with that seriously?
Oh well at least we got a T20.

are they having another australia vs australia domestic 20/20 to launch the season again?

i would have liked to have seen something like 1 T20 in every city at least
As it stands we have to watch 10 ODI's and 3 T20's this summer. I believe this is the wrong balance.
I would have like to seen and was wishing for something like say 6ODI's and 7 T20's. (hobart, brisbane, melbourne, sydney, perth, adelaide and maybe 1 in canberra)
I went to a T20 international fixture last year, and no doubt the crowds for T20>>> ODI's and I think its what the fans want. This schedule is not really good for the T20 fan.

under the current ICC's rules, the host country isn't allowed to host more than a 2 T20I series and no more than 3 T20I's in its summer.

Poor fixturing.
Really bad. The opposition is uninspiring enough as it is, but now we have to contend with having ANOTHER Test in mid-January.
The Sydney Test should always be the last one. When will they work that out?
Late ODIs in Melbourne are stupid, too. Makes crowds drop considerably due to timeslots.
are they having another australia vs australia domestic 20/20 to launch the season again?
that's the suggestion on the table

I'm clearly in the minority here, but I don't mind the fixture.
I always love watching the Windies and when they get it right, they can be a very good team. Chanderpaul is the best batsman in the world, Gayle is always entertaining and Taylor/Edwards can be very damaging bowlers. Throw in Bravo, Sarwan, an ever improving Ramdin, the returning Nash and Benn the tallest spinner in the World. It could well be an entertaining series. Obviously the ODI's and T20's will be the more competitive matches though.
And it's been a while since we've really gotten to see Pakistan. I for one am looking forward to that, and they should push us in the ODI's and T20.
It'll be nice to see some different teams for a change, not just India.

If West Indies dish up anything like they have been during the tour of England, I reckon it could be a white wash in both ODI's and Tests.
Chris Gayle has look disinterested, and in captain and batting. And chanderpauls innings the other day, was nothing short of a disgrace, 68 off 108 balls. Not knowing when to take powerplays, not knowing when to attack.
There are clearly problems with this team, they dont seem to be 100% interested.

I completely forgot about them. But we're over there this time. So it's up the NZ to decide. I'd say late October/Early November.
We're touring NZ in Feb/Mar 2010 according to the ICC schedule, so maybe the ODI leg will be for the trophy?

But if they dish up anything like they did when England toured, it could be more competitive than many people think.
Touring is their problem, not skill or a lack of interest. If they can rectify this, they could be a shot.

Well, I guess there's time for First Class cricket for the international players.hahahahahahaha. Why would we want Test cricketers playing first class cricket? Watch them put some Twenty20 games on in there. And probably in Melbourne and Hobart so they can get washed out like the Brisbane and Sydney internationals will in February . I guess the positive of that would be we might actually have some first class cricket being played while the Tests are on.
Looking at that makes me realise how disinterested in OD cricket I have become. There are going to be a lot of empty grandstands this season.

At least they got the Hobart Test right for the first time ever. Far less chance of rain, and of under-prepared pitches, after Christmas.

In an ideal world, Poms and NZ.
Or just a five Test seriesvs the Windies.
The Windies are crap, happy to see Pakistan here on Boxing Day, should be good fun. While once upon a time it was a highly anticipated series, it will be much better to see the Pakis over here.

It boils down to this there is only a handful of teams that invoke interest here in cricket:
SA (challenging Aus for the mantle):thumbsu:
India (Always some interesting controversy to keep us interested ever really since 2001 and give us a good fight.):thumbsu:
England (Ashes):thumbsu:
The rest just pale into insignificance Sri Lanka was ok but if wasnt for the chucker we couldnt really care much for them, WI are a total shadow of their heyday very sad, NZ are our bitches, and Pakis seem to self destruct.:thumbsd:
The international cricket at the moment reminds me much of the EPL a handful of teams with the rest being also rans.
I would love to see the WI come back, sadly it will never happen their best athletes get drawn to basketball and soccer.

The only logic I can think of not schduling one of the pakistan ODI games in melbourne is they don't want to compete with the AO. Surely, that can't be the reason though

both west indies and pakistan play in all 6 states this summer.
all states get a slice of the pie and fair enough too.
melb & syd get 8 days of cricket
bris, adel & perth get 7 of cricket
hobart get 6 days of cricket
(can't get any fairer than that given that melb & syd are the big 2)
