View Full Version : Hoggy's World Cup Player Of The Series Thread
This is a bit like Macca's footy player of the year but for the World Cup.
I have devised a points system that will be used in each game and the 3 highest players will be awarded votes on a 3,2,1 basis.
I decided to do this in a way of seeing who is playing the best cricket in the series and following each game, even against the minnows.
Lance Klusener won the official award in the 1999 World Cup.

You shouldn't be able to vote if you are going to be blatantly biased, Harvey batted better and bowled better than Hogg, scored more runs in less time and picked up more wickets (of higher quality batsmen aswell) yet you still pick Hogg, what a joke.

1 point each run
15 points a catch or stumping
15 points assisted wicket (eg bowler takes a wicket which is caught or stumped)
30 point unassisted wicket (eg bowler takes a wicket which is bowled, lbw, c&b)
Does that make any sense to you now?
I know you don't like me and to be honest I couldn't give a stuff about you, but that's my system, it's been used at my dad's work in competitions, so if you don't like it...you know where the door is.
And you say I am blatantly biased because I share a surname with Brad Hogg, how shallow do you think I am?
Thanks to Squeak for being able to see sense.
Don't most cricket clubs use a similar system for their club champiponships? If so, seems a good way to go.
Ahh so you didnt devise it at all! ;)
