Well we need a replacement - who is it?

I think so. More likely than not it will be Hauritz. I would like to see Clarke but I'm not sure he would fit in the same category.

Maybe Brad Williams - was doing pretty well in the series here. But any of the choices would be good.

And they have to be in the original 30? Gee, they didn't pick MacGill.....

Pity Peter McIntyre's retired.... ;)

The selectors will probably do something stupid and select a player like Simon Katich.

Hauritz should get the gig.

Clarke :D

Clarke just ahead of Blewitt. Better off with a batsmen who can bowl a few overs, as Hogg/Lehmann are good enough spin options.

I'd say pick Clarke, play Hogg as the spinner, Harvey as the allrounder and put Clarke int he side in place of Andy Symonds.

I thought it only had to be a like player if the came from outside the squad of 30.

I think Blewett should go now.

Has to be Clarke.

Katich should never play for Australia again. Bloody pretender he is.

Can they actually replace him now that the tournament has started?

I thougt you could only replace injured players, not stupid idjeets.

Dean Jones didn't think we could replace him. It will be interesting to see if the ICC allows us to replace Warne if he is ruled out of the rest of the World Cup.

I would probably go with Michael Clarke or Brad Williams if we're allowed to replace Warne.

Brad Williams or Nathan Bracken for mine, our bowling stocks were already short IMO.

Give Michael Clarke the experiance of being a part of something important, even if he doesn't play.

I wish.

Would be wonderful experience for the kid, but i think we'll see Clarke or Blewett go.

Nathan Hauritz for me...Shown in his limited chances that he's got what it takes to be an international performer and is now nearly back into his best form.

I don't even know if we can replace Warne. He's not out injured.

If we can get another player, I'd give Hauritz a go.

Just heard on the news tonight that the ICC will allow Australia to replace Shane Warne should he be found guilty of his drug charge.

ooh please...

An all-rounder who in 12 one-day matches has scored 77 runs at an average of 11 with a strike rate of 64, taken 5 wickets at 65 with an economy rate of 5.5!

Fly him over!!!

Is this the guy who's bowling action is almost a carbon copy of Shane Warne's?

Nathan Hauritz. He's in form at the moment.

What matters is how he delivers the ball, and it is nothing like Warne delivers it. He's more similar to Anil Kumble in his bowling, with the variances in pace and dip are more significant then the limited turn he gets.

Personally, I would pick Michael Clarke as he looks to have what it takes at the highest level. However, I doubt whether the extra man, whoever he is, will get much of a go with the way Australia is going presently.
