I'm just hoping Ricky is just relaying old news from 5-10 weeks ago and not recent news :(

Now, I have some good news and i have some bad news.

Bendigo’s miserable season continued today with a 112-point loss to the Sandringham Dragons at the Trevor Barker Beach Oval.

The Bombers’ failed to kick a goal in the first half and whilst they showed fight and lifted their pressure late in the game; the score line did the talking.

The highlights from the day were the form of Brent Prismall and the return to football of Andrew Welsh from a serious pre-season ankle injury.

Welsh showed encouraging signs and got through 60 minutes of the game unscathed.

Jay Nash suffered a shoulder injury and is expected to miss a few weeks.

The Bombers’ were beaten 20.16 (136) to 3. 6 (24).

Essendon rookie, Thomas German was the Bombers’ best player for the day gathering countless possessions and 15 tackles. Darcy Daniher also played a vital defensive role for Bendigo - despite the difference in the score line, he never gave up.

Brent Prismall edges closes to a senior berth after playing a full game in the midfield and gathering 30 possessions. His awareness, hard running and use of the ball was on show in today’s game.

Good News: There is no note of Laycocks injury.
Bad News: There is no note of laycock what so ever.

EDIT: He didn't play today because of injury.

The only good news I could gleen from this is that they lost by more than the senior team did.

But there is a positive out of our loss! I had serious heart palpitations this morning and decided not to go to the game. I was spared the sight and sounds of the massacre, which would have probably caused a heart attack. :(

It's very wrong that I thought the exact same thing. Too bad about The Big Lazy's foot, even under done he could have provided something.

If Hille, Laycock and Bellchambers are all out, and I was Hooker, I'd be worried about my health. The injury gods seem determined to make one 'P. Ryder' a young man well and truly laden with responsibility.

If Chook's foot is buggered I will cry and cry and cry, dehydrate and die, go up to heaven, locate my dog.... It's not only going to hurt us ruck-wise but also forward-wise. We just didn't look dangerous going forward today, and we often just had to bomb it down there -- Le Coq is at his most helpful in that situation. That's what I was looking forward to for his second half of the season: swapping forward with Paddy. Oh god, I hope it's only minor.

He would snap in half in his very first ruck contest, maybe in another two years :p

Quartermain: "And Winderlich runs it clear of the pack, kicks long into the 50 but there's no one home....wait a minute, wait a minute -- who's that stepping out from behind the goal post? Bock! Christian Bock shimmies between two breezes, picks up the ball, turns--disappears, reappears--kicks....GOAL!"

given knights will want to keep a decent structure with hooker staying in defence (until fletcher/hurley return) perhaps it makes sense to use s.lucas as the ruck chop-out. he might scare off the opponent if sticks the elbow out in rucking contests.

i was quite looking forward to seeing laycock in next week but oh well...

Laycock won't be playing seniors by the sounds of it for a while, which means we'll need to manufacture a back up ruckman.
Hooker
Daniher
Lucas?

I reckon put Lucas in the team as a backup ruckman. I mean he is apparently getting better form in the VFL, if he was to ruck at least he would get a touch of the footy being in the middle of the ground. Then when he is resting and Ryder takes over we could let Lucas have a rest down in the goal square :D

I think his agility and jumping ability would suit the ruck

Way we are going we might have to call 28DD's brother from Calder.
