New Moon is an upcoming romantic-fantasy film scheduled for release on November 19, 2009 (Australian theatres). It is based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer and is the sequel to 2008's Twilight, which is based on Meyer's previous novel. Directed by Chris Weitz, the film will star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively.

Hooray for more fangirlism :o
I watched twilight for about 20 minutes before I turned it off. I don't see what young girls see in a pastey looking emo guy with the personality of a boiled spud.
I mean he has been a vampire for a century and he is still in high school? What a crock.

Bahahah, so funny:thumbsu:
If it wasn't for the gf I wouldn't have seen it at all, she loves vampire/fantasy/dark movies. Though, to be honest, it wasn't the worst movie I've seen this year.

Don't worry, everyone will get off the Edward bandwagon with this movie and get on Jacob's...did you see how buff he looks in that trailer!?

I thought Twilight was the perfect movie to take a girl on a date to. It certainly helped my cause :D

I don't think this shit should qualify as media OR entertainment.
Actually, it's kinda entertainingly bad...

It's disgraceful that this sort of material is popular. The books seem like they have been written by a ten-year-old girl rather than a grown woman. I can't imagine the movies would be any better.
The Editing Room did a pretty good take on it:

I kept hearing about how bad the writing was so I googled an excerpt, trying to find an example. I was lead to this website and reading it, and thought I was reading a spoof.
Then I realised it was the actual thing. :(
My first thoughts were - it read exactly like the stories I wrote when I was ten or eleven. Gah.

To further pour salt on the wounds of Twilight fangirls unable to accept the fact that their beloved series is the literary equivalent of a four-year-old's crayon scribblings, Stephen King came out in early 2009 and expressed his distaste for the series' author:
"...Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good."

That was absolutely hilarious. There's this stupid chick who does videos on Youtube and has a whole Twilight series of them, and she absolutely rips through Stephen King...I've never laughed so much. Will edit with the link later...

My missus is insisting i take her to this one. She loves the first one, i haven't seen it and refuse to watch anything as ridiculous as this seems. Hoping to nap through it.

Oh help me, I only managed to watch a minute or so before I lost the battle of the cringe.

I watched one of those videos then found myself watching most of them. I cant fathom how an individual can become obsessed with something like she is.
I had an arguement with my 20!!!! yr old sister today relating to this crap. She tried arguing that Stephanie Meyer is a great author and the movie is amazing. She actaully got very angry after a while. It is scary how this saga has affected people.
