Anyone else think the hype was just a 'tad' over-stated?
Thought it a solid enough start but looks like just another cop show really. To much emphasis seemingly placed on the 'angst' of everyone (why cant there ever be cops that are just good at their jobs and have a reasonable home life? I'm sure it happens).
Hopefully the storyline might pick up into something stronger otherwise I dont think this one will be a long time around

As with most things getting to know you was the first introduction, last night was an introduction to the key characters. The more you know the characters the more the srtories will evolve and the more involved you will get. You won't have long to wait though, episode 4 is awesome!

I watched it and it was okay.I'll give it a few more weeks before deciding if I bother watching it all the time.
I read in the paper that the ratings inthe USA have dropped a fair bit since it started.
I watched and thought it was quite good. A sad story the way the innocent kid falls to his death at the end and all...but a good show. It had better get a lot better if it thinks it can compete with 24! Hanging out for monday!

I think you need to give it a few weeks before you make up your mind. It will take a little while to get used to the unusual format.
I remember when I first started watching 24 it was a little hard to watch but when I got into it I loved it.

I like the show, I think it's great...
I watched it again and its not bad.The format takes a bit of getting use to.

Watched episode 2 last night despite still having episode 1 on tape. Love the multiple points of view, will definitely keep going with this one.

Only dissapointment with episode 2 is that we found out the killer so early...

Just for Mantis: yes I'm still enjoying this :) Not the greatest thing since sliced bread, but very worth my time.
This weeks episode was (imo) the strongest so far. Characters are starting to become a bit more refined and I quite like the pick up in the pacing (first couple moved to slow).
Still not sold but while there is little else on as an alternative its worth the watch.
It looks as though ch7 have dumped BOOMTOWN . :rolleyes: It's not on this week and next week a series called THE JURY is starting in its place.
Bloody ch 7. :mad:

Apparently it was only moved back a week for a double episode of blue heelers. If it is gawn for good I will no longer watch channel 7.
With the Mole and Boomtown (?) cut, the only show I watch regularly is the Footy Show :(

They've dumped it and it'll probably come back in December when its non-ratings.

Low-rating shows are not tolerated, prompting Seven to dump the hyped police drama Boomtown (it will return in a new timeslot, Seven says) and a cloud hovers over talk show The Chat Room featuring Fox FM hosts.

It wasn't rating well enough for a 9:30pm time slot so starting tomorrow it is now on Wednesday's at 10:30pm replacing Futurama and King of the Hill.

^This is good for me. It was always a connundrum as to watch this or survivor.
Boomtown returns next tuesday at 11.30pm
