"A news report said he was found hanged in his hotel room and was believed to have committed suicide, according to AP.

The US Embassy confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor.

It said the embassy was informed by Thai authorities that Carradine died either late Wednesday or early Thursday, but he could not provide further details out of consideration for his family.

The website of the Thai newspaper The Nation cited unidentified police sources as saying Carradine was found on Thursday hanged in his luxury hotel room, AP said.

The press agency reported that a preliminary police investigation found that he had hanged himself with a cord used with the room's curtains. It cited police as saying he had been dead at least 12 hours and there was no sign that he had been assaulted.
Carradine was best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin priest traveling the 1800s American frontier West in the 1970s series Kung Fu."

I am devasted, I was in love with him as a young girl, I watched "Kung Fu" religiously & it inspired me to learn the craft.

His portrayal of Woody Guthrie in the movie "Bound for Glory", was fantastic.

RIP David, you will be remembered fondly by many.

Thai police told The Sun the actor was found with a curtain rope tied around his neck and genitals.
They would neither confirm nor deny suggestions that Carradine was attempting auto-erotic asphyxiation, a practice designed to boost sexual pleasure

dunno if it hurts so much, just a bit of netherworld conscious losing (or so it seemed in that larry clark film) that goes a bit too far.

I only ever saw him in Kill Bill, but he was brilliant in that. Tarantino can have that kind of impact though i guess...

Start another thread about that topic, this thread is about David's death, not eroticism, especially when it is only conjecture that is how he died.

He was a troubled man, who more than likely took his own life, I don't know where this crap came from, can we please get back on topic?

R.I.P. David, hope you are now having a drink with Woody Guthrie.
