I was wondering who you guys think should get the captaincy.
In my opinion I think Jacko should be captain and Cousins and Braun joint Vice Captains. This would give the younger boys a chance to learn the role, and then whoever takes their opportunity the best, would be the next captain.
What do you reckon?

Ummmm I'm goin Couso. So many young guys in the team, I think we need a young captain....kinda like woosha when he took over as captain. Ben can lead the new boys to a premiership I am sure. Jako, he's great and all but I think Benny can relate to the younger guys more...and thats where our team is at.

All polls I've seen have shown Glen Jakovich as the prefered choice for captain, but It wouldn't suprise me at all if Ben Cousins got the nod, considering the club has gone for a young captain in the past (Woosha) which paid off (2 premierships).
One factor which is a plus for Glen Jakovich is that he is a natural leader. Even when the little mascots run onto the ground he's always the one patting them on the back and jogging with them - which shows his love for the club and the fans. Plus, he's basically been the step in captain for the side this year with Bluey being away with injury for some time.

Does anyone know when the captaincy will be given? Anyways i say Cousins for Captain, i think Jako does so much on and off the feild that he doesnt need to be captain. Everyone already knows hes a leader so why not go for Cousins and continue with the youth policy we seem to be going for.

Why dont any of you think Brauny would be a good leader? I know that the club asked him to take in Richard Taylor and get him accustomed to the club and other players. I don't know of many other players who have been asked to do the same thing with the new guys....

Braun just doesnt say Captain fir me, hes kinda quiet and not the best leader on the feild either. Dont get me wrong i like Braun hes a great player but i dont think he's captain material.

I'd say, give it to Jako for next season, but if he isn't fully fit over the next couple of seasons, id'll go to Cousins. Don't ever want to see Eagles co-captains.
I agree Braun would be a good VC, but I think he's too injury-prone (ie knee) to be captain. Could Wirra be a possibility also?
Don't think Chad 1 has the brains (re: focus and maturity) to be a leader. (Sorry..... it's my opinion only).
And finally, I'd offer Kemp a VC'y for his last season or two if he wants it (which I don't think he would).
But I think we're all missing the really important issue here. With Bluey as a coach, do we need to appoint a new fines collector? That's the real position of power! http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/wink.gif

Bluey wasn't the fines collector. It is Dean Kemp, and I'm pretty sure it will stay that way.
