Listen to Mitch White's interview on the AFL website. The Eagles peaked with training three months before the season started. By round 11 they were dead! Was last season orchestrated so that a cleanout could happen? Bring in the KJ players and clean out the MM players? I don't know but it seems possible!

Too many people on this Forum think that they know everything. Too many others can't answer simple questions, like Frodo raised, and dash for cover.

There is no accountability, for opinions that are expressed. No one knows all, and those who purport to do so are idiots!

Well, if it was the case of letting them peak early then fall so that the culling could be made easier. I guess the question would then be, was it the correct thing to do?

Judgey has gone through a similar process at Hawthorn where perhaps some players were kept one or two seasons to long on account of stirring service to the club. This (imho) caused drawback latter on when the rebuilding was being done as there remained very little base to build the new foundation that was required to put the Hawks back into good football side.

Now that a few of your older/average players have gone, but still retaining the likes of Kemp,Jacko,Matera maybe Judge can bring in the changes sooner to achieve his long term aims quicker than he did with the Hawks?

Just my thoughts on it.

I don't think he deliberately made them peak too early then die, I think it just happened that way. He probably did over train them a bit and he must think so cause he said in december they will take things a little easier this preseason to try prevent the mid season crash. If you think about it, it didn't just all die mid season, we couldn't put 2 games in a row together, so it really started straight away. I think that now we will go well with our new list and the Rebuilding can go on, I think Ken will rebuild this side well so we once again taste great success

From Malthouse to Judge doesn't show great judgement.
