First loss of the season by 7 points. Bad luck fellas. Not a bad result for first practice match.

I went to the game and I have to say it was an excellent practice game for both clubs and both sets of fans also.
Just about perfect really, with the first half a chance for some senior palyers to get a touch, and in the second half the youngsters for both Ess and Syd really played and excellent 40 mins of footy, albeit in greasy drizzle on a tiny (15 a side) ground.
Lay**** looked particulary sharp for yopu guys but I'm afraid Hunt took a real bath in the 2nd quarter against Barry Hall
cheers

I'm not going to complain about a 19.5 scoreline, considering how anemic the attack was last year. Of course, this was a pretty small ground.
Oh so big bad bazza had a kid on him when he kicked his 4 goals, they way the media was talking him up its as if the best full back in the comp was playing on him.

Bazza kicked 5 goals on hunt.
He also was only on the ground for half the game.
Then Scott Stevens (21 years old) came on and kicked 4 on him.
Like I said, its good to see he had the best full back in the comp on him rather than a 19 year old!

Actually Lucas played on Stevens while he was taking most of those marks. Instead of trying to spoil he was generally flying to mark.

Not so bad for a 19 year old kid in a practise match...
