Do you agree?
Darren Lehmann is not an all-rounder.
He is however our best part-time bowler.

Wouldn't that constitute an all-rounder if that were the case?

I wouldn't class Darren Lehmann as an all-rounder, rather a batsman who can bowl a few overs if required.

Batting Ave 37.45 S/R 81.87
Bowling 28 wicket @ 30.5 Econ 4.79
Batting is excellent and rarely bowls without getting a wicket.
Of all the Australian players past or present to make over 1000 runs he has the 4th best strike rate. Pretty damn good.
BTW his run out on SAturday night was pretty damn good fielding.

Darren Lehmann is a very handy batsman, a better bowler than other so-called allrounders like Symonds and 99% of the NZ cricket team.
He lacks some pace in the field, but as we saw against India he is a punishingly accurate throw.

When was the last mistake he made in the field?
Lacks pace perhaps, but that's all.

Probably technically correct, but he is a lot closer to being an all-rounder than he was 2 years ago.
The Aussies couldn't afford to leave Harvey out if that wasn't the case.

Punishing batsman, handy bowler of darts, piercing throw. Any lack of pace in the field is made up for by these attributes. Getting close to all rounder, at least good enough to be the fifth bowler.

I don't get it. Lehmann can bat, can bowl, fields pretty well, has carried the drinks on a number of occasions and could probably hold his own behind the wicket. Is there some other attribute of cricket he lacks?
If anything, I'd say he's a bit too good at batting and bowling to qualify as your traditional all-rounder.

Exactly. Shance Watson is considered an all-rounder because he's too crap at both batting and bowling to be a top-liner in both disciplines.

I'd call him a handy part time bowler, not an all rounder.
Hoggy is our number 1 all rounder, then Harvey.

That's interesting
Lehmann's bowling is much closer to Hogg's bowling than Hoggs Batting is to Lehmann's.

Stats suggest that Boof is an all-rounder at ODI level - however, his bowling is not up to scratch to be considered as an all-rounder at test level.

Interesting point Kane, I think you are right.
