Good win by the coast today , by far and away the better team on the park , if had there kicking boots on would of won by a lot more. Thought Jack Stanlake played his best game for the club to date , tapered off late in the game due to his fitness , big Dixon will be a player , has a big presense in the forward line and sign Matt Fowler up now , the guy just pops up every week in the right spot at the right time , very good overhead and has a great kick.

Does anyone know why they kick so many points each week? Just imagine if half of their points were goals.

Thats a juniors thing....lots of close games, could be a lot further down on the ladder if not winning these close ones...

I've found watching at this level that kicking is terrible when you compare it to AFL , you have a few guys who are up to that level but most are terrible , could have something to do with fitness levels and when fatigue kicks in they labour on there kicking , also found at the last 10 min of yesterdays match about 10-15 guys go down with cramp.

Yeah that's true when you think about it.

Here's the match report.

ANOTHER THRILLER AT CARRARA AS GCFC BEAT BALLARAT
13.06.09
Gold Coast Football Club held off a fast finishing North Ballarat Rebels with a seven point victory at Carrara on Saturday.

The win was another close one for GCFC which seems to be making a habit of nail-biting finishes for its local fans. But the win was important for the fourth placed Coast as it took on and beat second place Ballarat and led all day.

Final scores Gold Coast 10.17.77 to North Ballarat 11.4.70. Gold Coast’s Matt Fowler kicked 5 goals with one each from Rory Thompson, Damien Steven, Jack Stanlake and Alec Magin. Mid-fielder Taylor Rolfe and Fowler were best on ground.

Gold Coast again transforms into the Queensland representative side next week when it travels south to Launceston to take on Tasmania in Game 3 of the U18 National Championships on Saturday.

Jeez, Matt Fowler looks good. I've only seen him play once live and he stood out, and every match report has him with runs on the board. Looks like he could be a very good player.

Yeah you're not wrong , he has a touch of class about him , the only problem he will have is he is only 186cm so to small for KP in the AFL , but i am certain he will be picked up , hopefully by us.

Who pays for the flights for games where others have to come to the Coast or you blokes come down to Vic just out of curiosity?
