who would you trade?

personally i think the eagles need to trade some players over 26 for some draft picks next year, we have enough young depth and the young guys will most likely step up and perform well enough to cover for the older guys, so why keep them around, there arent that many if they do stay they will be taking the place of a younger player, one that it would be better for to play, even though he would be a bit worse than the older player, but it would pay off in a year or two, and the draft picks gained would benefit the eagles greatly in the future

banfield (we got heaps of midfielders)
donnely (was never a fan of, hes useless)
turnbull (we got enough ruckmen)
jackovich (gasper will fill in nicely)
cummings (adamn hunter takes his place)
are the only players i can think of old enough

There is no way that Glen Jackovich or Drew Banfield will ever be traded. We would be stupid to trade them anyway, because we do need some experience!!!!

I think you will find that Gaspar will be trained to fill Jackos role, but slowely so that he doesn't get worn out to early. Taller guys take a lot longer to mature and develop, so there is no hurry there, especially while Glen is still around and in good form.

I know that Drew is a player that the younger midfield players look up to when they are on the field. They have a lot of respect for him, and I think you need that in a team.

I agree 100% with what MDB said. Jacko is the heart and soul of the Eagles. He's a terrific role model for the younger players and for the eagle fans.

Your right ah_19 - the eagles do have a lot of midfielders, but Drew Banfield is one of the most experienced, along with Kemp and Matera. There is no way the Eagles would trade Drew - I'm sure he'd be on the untouchable list.

No way trade Drew or jako, you don't just kick out a 4 times club champion, and another club champion. They are the experience we need. You can't just have experience or youth, you need a happy medium.
I also don't reckon Cummings should be traded. Sure we have someone to take his place but he needs to gain experience and Cummings will help him. Look how Phil's come on since cummings came.

AH I think you are a bit dumb..here is why all those guys should STAY with the eagles
Banfield because he is one of the best taggers
Donnely because he is a great utility and great across half forward
Turnball because we need a safe option if Michael Gardiner gets hurt...you cant rely on a teenager
Jackovich because he is the best player around and because he is the heart and soul of the eagles
Cummings because he kicks heaps of goals and gives us something to lead to!!
