I don't go for the eagles but it comes to my curiosity why their name is West Coast.

homework - because in 1986 when they were founding the club, they wanted the name to represent the WHOLE state and not just the capital city.

Well now I know, but doesn't that make you a bit different to say Sydney who have their capatil city as their name?

What I mean is, different in the way of having your team as the capatil. Sydney are the capatil, West Coast aren't now that seperates you from Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Homework - If we are different to Sydney thats great, we don't want to be a carbon copy of their club.

Their name's represent the capital city, while our name represents the whole state.

Nothing too strange about that from my point of view.

Its good to represent the whole state and not just the capital city. Plus, West Coast sounds better tha plain old Perth. Footscray changed to Western Bulldogs to take in all the Western Suburbs, we took West Coast to take the whole state

Homework...It would be a sad day if the eagles were anything like the Sydney Swans...the more different we are the better!
