I think guys especially are turned off by the whole Twilight thing.

Agree that it's a great show. I hope they might explore the being able to hear people's thoughts thig a bit more. Would be interesting to find out why she has this 'gift'.

Bingo! :D:p

Me, on the other hand, like to watch it and find it rather entertaining. :thumbsu:

I didn't click on this thread because it was identified as a season 2 spoiler and season 2 only just started.

Anna Paquin's toothy hotness is multiplied by her getting that rockin body out in this show.

Eric is awesome. Sookie nudity is awesome.

Watching ep 2 tonight, can really see this series breaking the shackles this season, past the over the top standard serial killer (a bit like Dexter S1) into a much more broad plot.

gotta admit i haven't read the books, but the jason/church of the sun storyline is really starting to grate on my nerves

but more sookie nudity is definitely a major plus

Looks like Maryann is some sort of witch type thing.

Prob a non ratings period for the july 4th holidays crap.

I don't think America has designated 'non-ratings' periods like Australia does, however the July 4th weekend could be the reason for the break (although I remain cynical ;)).

I'm enjoying Season 2, its a bit better than Season 1.

Eric is still a badass. Shame that Godric has bit the dust though, he was interesting.

Finally got around to finishing the season tonight.

Overall quite good :thumbsu: I loved the tidbits of history we got about Godric and Eric :thumbsu: The stuff about the Queen was also good. Only negative is the season got a bit too weak/bizarre once they left Dallas and Maryann became the main plot - and that was a weird one. Handled too 'funnily' for my tastes much of that was.

Overall still good stuff though :thumbsu:

There's a lot to like about season 2, and yet there's also a lot to dislike about it too. I wish they would concentrate on the vampire stuff, that's a hella lot more interesting than the supernatural stuff, and I class the shapeshifting and telepathy as part of the supernatural.

I wasn't too happy with the end of the Godric and the Church of the Sun story arc. That was a real fizzer to me. The one thing I couldn't explain was when the beefy security guy was about to rape Sookie and Godric stepped in, beefy guy says "But Godric it's me" Sounded like the whole thing was orchestrated by Godric but that was never explained.

It's a good setup for season 3 though, looks like it's Bill vs Eric for Sookie's affection. (Although the way they ended season 1, it probably isn't Eric who is responsible for Bill's fang-napping)

I think that was to do with Godric having given himself up willingly to the Church when they 'kidnapped' him i.e. the security guy had seen Godric wasn't really an 'awful' person also I think he and Godric had chatted and gotten to know each other during the later's imprisonment.

Plus the security guy didn't seem to really believe in the Church's preachings (after all, he was about to rape a 'fang banger' :p)

But yeah I was sad to see Godric go so early! We only got a few episodes of him and he was very fascinating :( Hopefully they have a few more Godric and Eric flashbacks next season!

Eric is awesome.
Agreed, one of the coolest characters I've seen on a TV show. That flashback scene where we see Godric making Eric a vampire was awesome. Godric should've hung around but it was good seeing a vampire (besides Bill) showing different feelings about what they are and finally being sick of it, albeit after 2000 years.

Sookie is really bloody annoying though. She put me off the show when I first watched it and I didn't decide to revisit until a couple of months ago.

Is this the show that has the guy who played Vinnie in Home & Away? If it is what was he like?

Yes Ryan Kwanten. I reckon he's done an excellent job, if you didn't know his background you couldn't tell he is an Aussie. He has some of the best lines in the final episode too.

That guy is an aussie? Haha REALLY would never have picked that. He carried season 2 and his inadvertent humour was awesome.

Season 2 has been awesome.

Not all vampires are equal. In season 1, Bill was introduced, to much ooh and aah by virtue of his age and being around during the Civil War.

Then Eric came into the picture, more powerful and even older. Interesting character.

Then came the most interesting and intriguing vampire, the most charismatic to boot called Godric, who was not only old, but ancient.

Bill seems boring in comparison.

Here is a sneak peak of season 3 - premiers on HBO on 13 June, so it should come to Foxtel soon after.

Has anyone read the books by Charlaine Harris?

Awesome promo for Season 3, this is my favourite show on TV at the moment, loved the first series, yet the second series only got better.

I hope its better than the second season. The first was pretty cool and Eric is awesome but the second was just weird. They should've milked the Godric character more.
