Hey guys, haven't been on as much as usual do to copious amounts of overtime at work. Just wondering if Hurley is likely to play this Friday? I know he fractured his wrist about 3-4 weeks back, I don't know much about injury progression at the moment unfortunately.

How amazing would it be to see Hurley v Watts??!!?!?!

hurley won't be ready. will have to wait for 2010 to see that matchup.

Awww.. It's pretty unfortunate.
I guess our 23 Draft Pick from 2007 will have to take him.

wont happen, melbourne arent that tall in their forward line
i would have the matchups

watts- mcphee
robertson- fletcher
miller- pears

although mcphee is not a KPD whats is not playing as a KPF he is playing more of a HFF role form what i saw

put mcphee on him and get really stuck into him, hurt him whenever he gets the ball and rough him up at the start of the match.
hooker can also go on watts when he isnt playing in the ruck

Why would it be amazing?

Who cares if two highly rated kids play on each other. I couldn't give a stuff who they play or who plays on who as long as we beat them by 10 goals.

Because it would be great to see the number 1 pick V the number 1 defender of the draft. I would love to see it as well, but Hurley won't be ready.
I think Hurley kept him goaless last time they played against eachother.

yeah i agree. mchpee could get really stuck into him. his teammates will need to be alert and come to his aid since he's such a skinny lad.

wouldn't surprise me at all if we saw a few brawls here and there ... just small ones.

robertson should be dropped based on form, but he does alright against essendon.

will be out for 1 more week
robertson is still probably melbournes most dangerous forward (excluding silvia as he is more of a midfielder), put fletcher on him, robertson would be lucky to get 1 goal on fletcher and have fletcher play his normal role in defence helping out the likes of pears dempsey etc. jurrah is apparently going to debut next week, his pretty quick so i would put dempsey on jurrah or houli could be a good option he has been doing alright indefence

In more bright news for Essendon, the club’s first-round draft pick from last year Michael Hurley is also a chance to resume this weekend.

He broke a bone in his wrist three weeks ago but might have to wait a while longer to re-commence his debut season.

The club’s VFL team, the Bendigo Bombers, has a bye this week and doesn’t next play until June 28.

So we might have..

B Pears Hurley Fletcher
HB McPhee Hooker Dempsey

I highly doubt he will play though.

I hope it doesn't happen.

Watts is a decent enough kid, and I don't want to see his career get ruined so early by the psychological scars such a matchup will give him.
