Despite her interviews with certain Australian media being Ordinary If Anything, promoters for the Australian Avril Lavigne tour promise it will be Anything But Ordinary.
Avril is heading to Australia for the first time for a whirlwind tour taking in just Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne over just 4 days.
Her 'Let Go' album has now sold over 4 million copies in the USA and in Australia is 5 x platinum.
She is also up for 5 Grammy Awards next week including Song of the Year, New Artist, Female Pop Vocal Performance, Pop Vocal Album and Female Rock Vocal Performance.
Considering her momentum at the moment you would think Avril would have a lot to talk about but one interviewer found his allocated 25 minutes was all over in 7 after Avril failed to contribute more than one sentence and often one word answers at best. "Don't these people get given any media training" one reporter told Undercover.
Avril dates are:
June 1 Melbourne Rod Laver Arena
June 3 Sydney Entertainment Centre
June 4 Brisbane Entertainment Centre
By Paul Cashmere
For once I'm actually happy an act isn't touring Perth.

Avril Lavinge should be shot.
Thank god bands like Opeth and Black Label Society are touring here this year to make up for the other crap that's coming over here!

Heck, I don't mind many of the songs on her album - but after only one album - with only about half the songs on it being strong ones.. isn't it a bit early to be playing 10,000 seat arenas like the Syd Ent Cent?
If it was $30 tickets at the metro or something I might have been tempted to have a look.
Well, if you're into 14yo girls dressed like ****s, then it could be a good night! :)

There's no way she'd sell out Rod Laver Arena, which is somewhere between 12000 & 15000 seats.

Well she might because we all know this will be her only visit so everyone will want to see her now.
In 2-3 years time she will be a has been.

Teenybopper acts do not generally get good concert crowds unless its a free concert (viz Popstars puppets in shopping centres). Eminem struggled to get concert sales, Ja Rule and Ashanti have been performing in tin pot shacks like Challenge Stadium, and Ms Isn't My Tie Sooo Anti-Establishment? will go the same way.

She's a clown. Her songs are sucky.
Her fans are even dafter if they take her seriously.
Did anyone read her interview in the HIT section of the Herald Sun the other day? It was disgraceful.

Thank god she's not coming to Adelaide.
Help me. I'm taking my seven year old sister, and 2 9 year old cousins.
Please. For the love of God, help me.
Take a walkman, meg. What was in the interview vergs?

Seriously, if you agreed to take them...well you have only yourself to blame! :D

The interview just had no detail, her answers were shocking, she just seemed like a real b*tch. I know she has a reputation as a poor interviewee, but this was really bad. The typical American teenager - "Like, you know, whatever", all that kind of talk.
The interview was titled 'the incredible sulk'. Here is the last few paragraphs of the article - "She goes now. Nearly 20mins ahead of schedule. Apparently she'd been doing a seven hour photo shoot for Rolling Stone and was really tired. Many questions are unanswered. For instance, we didn't get to ask why her former bass player quit, claiming he was sick of being used as a marketing tool. You can guess she wouldn't have talked about that either. Like, whatever".
I just read that interview. Yeah she was pretty pathetic, especially at the start.

Arf! That's funny! :D
You gotta remember, she's just a kid. I know I was pretty surly and stupid for large portions of my youth (errr.. which continues to this day.) I don't see this as being inconsistent with the norm at all ;)
Got to worry about the record company execs though.

Yeah but you gotta agree that Cameron Adams did a great great job of painting her in the worst possible light. Biggest 'interview as an excuse for an editorial' I've ever seen.
She will sell out these arenas, her album has been top 5 for the last 3 months. The kids will turn up.

Good point. I've seen Kylie Minogue being interviewed and she's hardly the most articulate or interesting person going around but as she's officially the love-child of Mr. Adams and all who reside at Hit Magazine, that would've been skimmed over.

Prefer TISMs version of Sk8r Boi.. "He was a skater boy, she said see ya later boy, he couldn't get it up for her".

Shame for Bill Wyman that he didn't come out here with the Stones ... he would have been in his element.

I would kill for straight hair but she has got to be the blandest girl i have ever seen.
Not what you would call a fan but was in a bit of a huff after reading that Hit interview with her as well. Wonder whether Kelly Osbourne likes her as she had a bit to say about Natalie Imbuglia being a stuck up snob to her fans in much the same way.

That would have been funny, except for the fact that Bill Wyman hasn't been with the Stones for many years now!
Actually talking about age, Wyman has to be at least 66 now.
Playing big concerts with only one album of songs to play could pose a problem for some teenage popstars.
But not Avril.
Just listen to the sort of 'treats' her Aussie fans could have in store for them at the upcoming shows...

Seeing that abbreviated link, it looks like that is the Chop Suey cover, which is indeed horrible.
Her music is atrocious. I hope she develops a coke habit to waste all her 'talent' on.

She was nothing short of tragic at the recent music awards. Can't sing & can't dress, give her the boot I say.
Cheap skanky untalented slapper !!

It's also a sad reflection on the music industry, that this kind of person and her music is what sells these days to a certain extent.
As punishment she should be made to live the rest of her life in Cranbourne! (sorry if there are any posters from Cranbourne:)
