Who was the only Englishman to be no-balled in a Test Match, "bowling" (throwing) right handed?

David Gower was a right arm thrower/bowler... and he was called in a Test match
Gee, I hope the umpire got into trouble over that one. As we all know, it is never the bowler's fault.

was he called for throwing or because he didnt inform the batsman of a change of delivery??

Who has scored the most runs in Test Cricket, without ever scoring a century?
OK, here's mine:
Steve Waugh's Test career batting average currently stands at 49.45, with 29 Test centuries.
What is his first innings batting average, and how many of those centuries have been scored in the first innings?

top of my head:
higher than 49.25
most
looking it up:
59.79
27
Huh? Looking it up?
27 first innings centuries would be terrific - but not right I'm afraid. Neither is the average. We're looking higher.
Be clear by what you mean by "first innings". I'm in agreement with red+black.

Name the last player to play 1st class cricket and AFL football (from a cricket perspective)???
Craig Bradley?
Re: first innings, er, good point. The stat I was looking at was first innings of a match, so 62.89 and 16 centuries.
But actually the other stat, 27 of his 29 centuries in our first innings is more interesting.
Cheers!

By my reckoning, there are at least 3 since Craig Bradley (from the cricket side - obviously he is the last from the footy side of things)...

Ok - Nick Jewell is the most recent. Craig Bradley played his last 1st class match in 1989/90, so Jamie Siddons is one. Geoff Parker - did he actually play senior footy??? And Simon O'Donnell (being the most obvious one) also played 1st class cricket since Braddles...

Clark played one match for Freo in 1999, Jewell's sole game for Richmond was in 1997. I could've sworn Parker played senior footy but I can't for the life of me remember who for.
Geoff Parker played for Essendon Pretty sure he played senior footy - otherwise I would never have heard of him
Liam Pickering is a gun cricketer - did he play a first class game?

Martin McCague
Sorry, got that wrong. McCague is the last player to play Test Cricket and SANFL footy ... great trivia question that one.

No, that's Michael Clarke (I've been deliberately careful with the spelling). I'm talking about the Western Australian fast bowler, son of former Australia Test player Wayne Clark. Another thing he has in common with Jewell - a semi-famous father.

No. Only first grade cricket with North Melbourne.

red+black
21 Feb 2003, 16:40
Belinda Clark 229* v Denmark
(didn't hear it on the radio)
other possible answers
Darren Lehmann 191

yeah it has to be Belinda Clark. Lehmann was in county cricket, and the south australian was not in an australian representative match. mark waugh obviously has the highest for an Australian male.

Who was the last player prior to Williams to be 12th Man in a test and never go on and play a test?
Since then, Nathan Hauritz was 12th man three times in the Test series against Pakistan in 2002.
Who is the only other player to have been 12th man three times for Australia, without ever playing a Test?

No. Only first grade cricket with North Melbourne.
Liam Pickering did make the Vic state squad (of about 25 players) around 10 years ago, while he was still playing footy with North. May have played some 2nd XI cricket for Vic, but that's about it. I don't think he played cricket for North Melbourne while playing footy for Geelong, but has recently returned to NMCC after his football retirement (and stuggled a bit).
Todd Breman (former WC/Richmond forward) also played some Sheffield Shield games for WA in the late 80s as a bit of an all-rounder.
Harry Frei, who bowled spin for Qld in the mid 80s also played footy for Footscray in the late 70s.

And I completely forgot about Nathan Hauritz...

While we're on that - current SA player Brett Higgins played for Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL.
From memory he played in both of their recent losing GFs and was a Crows listed player at one stage.

South Australia's middle order batsman is Ben Higgins.

Ian McMullin played for Collingwood and Essendon. I think he also played cricket for Victoria.

Nup, no profile for any McMullin listed on the Baggy Green site.
There is however a J.Cox who was drafted by Essendon in 1986 from Wynyard in Tasmania... I'm presuming it's Tassie skipper Jamie Cox.
