They get a week off. The AFL should have given both sides a week off. So imo they have no excuses for losing. I hope we can win and on form we should win. But we are talking about Essendon here.

We had a week off also, and are now into the swing of things.
No excuses come Friday night.

I think it is an advantage. Valuable game time for Reimers, Fletch and Welsh. Prismall and McVeigh are getting fitter.
So no, it is not unfair. Besides we're up and running. :thumbsu:

I know we had last week off but we played Melbourne tonight. Next week will be a tougher game so Carlton will be fresher.

Not in this instance.
Sometimes a week off can make you a bit rusty, many people say we lost the 90' flag because we had 2 weeks off. So we may actually have the advantage.
If the game was particularly bruising, then yes it would be a disadvantage, but the game appeared to be pretty low intensity.
We have no excuses if we lose.

If it wasn't for your name I'd say you be trollin.
Getting some match fitness into 5 of our top players was essential before the big Carlton and Collingwood matches. Perfectly timed break imo.

I think we are in a better position having had a break and a game to get back into the swing of things.

Not at all.
I see tonight's game as a big confidence booster. Like a practice game... a forerunner to next week.
I'm more confident with Welshy, Fletcher & Winders going into the Carlton game with a fresh game under their belt. They'll be better for it. Hungry too.
CAN'T WAIT!

We'll be match hardened, never liked the idea of a week off at any time of the season! ;)
LOL?
we need weekday matches more than we need weeks off. okay we've had injuries and time would've healed a few aches and pains, but welsh/mcveigh/dustin (even)/prismall (especially)/reimers are all key members of our best 22 and all are underdone (by varying degrees).

Definitely not.
The game time we managed to get into Fletcher, Prismall, Reimers, Welsh and Winderlich tonight was invaluable.
We should be able to come out all guns blazing next week.

I'm pretty sure that in games where one team has had a week off and one hasn't the latter has won more often than not.
Don't quote me on that, though.

I would much rather be in our position than Carlton's. We had a injury free hit out with McVeigh the only worry. Had heaps of goal kicking pratice. Prismell, Fletcher, Reimers will be better for the run. I reckon we will turn it on next week.

Plus we don't have Jordan Russell.
