How good is our coaching staff, the eagles got away with having an extra man on the ground, and our coaching staff didnt even realise till after jakovich left the ground. this just shows that the coaches were to busy concentrating on the game which is a good thing. how ever if the coaching staff had of realised and asked for a head count the eagles would have had all their points on the score board taken off and jakovich would have spent the rest of the game on the bench, i think that teams will be a bit more careful in future with having an extra player "sneak" on the ground, especially if it means losing all those hard earned points. Well done Jakovich for getting off the ground before Freo realised that you were even there. :)

It kinda says something about the impact he was having when no one actually noticed that there was a constantly unmarked opponent on the ground!

Hmmm, I can't say I noticed an extra man on the field. Doesn't worry me though, it was only the Wizard Cup.. If it was during the season though, I'd be ****ed off.

How long was he on the field?.

In the time he was on the ground he wasn't in the play, so no damage was done.

Either Slappo needs a hearing aid or Woosha has quietened his voice down from his playing days.

He was on for less than one minute.

Do yourselves a favour and dont include this in your list of excuses of why you didnt win.

How can that be an excuse when he was only the extra man for like one minute hardly enough time to do any damage.

So if he was on the ground for less than a minute, didn't have an impact and didn't get any possessions during that period of time, neither captains notice nor did the field umpires - whats the big deal?

Try reading the thread again goeagles, and then tell me who's making a big deal about it.

I think you cheats did actually kick a goal with 19 blokes on the field, and the fact that nothing is done about it reflects poorly on the AFL, and your own club.

As with your drug scandal etc if you shutup about it, it will eventually just go away.

Has anyone made a big deal of it? The Eagles supporters have made a bigger deal than us about it. Even the title to dockerbabe's thread had a :D icon to it.

Big deal?, I think every Dockers supporter here has said that it didn't affect the game and that's it.

I thing CC put it in perspective, "it's only a practice game".

Onto next week.

Just on the extra man saga, while Chick goaled I actually mentioned to my brother "It doesn't look like we have enough players on the ground at the moment".

Little did I know that I was on the right track, sort of.

I think you cheats did actually kick a goal with 19 blokes on the field, and the fact that nothing is done about it reflects poorly on the AFL, and your own club. The rule is that the captain has to call the headcount. Maybe it's a holdover from the days when all you had at a VFL ground was a field umpire, two goal umpires and a guy with a stopwatch, but it's the rule nonetheless.

And sure, Bell may have had bigger fish to fry and may not have noticed, but there's a guy your team pays who wears a fluoro shirt who could have run out and let him in on the joke. The fact that he didn't reflects poorly on your club's ground staff, if you want to look at it like that.As with your drug scandal etc if you shutup about it, it will eventually just go away. It's actually pretty amusing. Only the most enthusiastic inflatable anchor wavers are going to go with the line that it was anything other than a honest mistake that didn't affect the game.

Assume they did take the points off us and we lost - we're off to Geraldton instead of Darwin. Geez, dramatic reduction in travel time and a game in 90% less humidity, what a bummer. And as for the line that people had money on the game - who in their right mind bets on a Wizard Cup game? It'd be as crazy as betting on F1 results.

Connolly said he noticed the extra man on the ground but didn't bother reporting it because it was only a practice game, and being the first game and all, little mistakes like that one were bound to happen.
