would rather win the WC2003 than player of the series. Just ask kluszner 1999 :D

A big tip early on in the year. Gillespie for AB medallist 2004. (For christ sake just stay fit Dizzy !!!!!)

LOL - funny stuff. :D

In all seriousness, Tim de Leede looks like a very talented cricketer... possibly one who could play county cricket in England if he's not already.

How are these ratings calculated? Tendulkar has 4 centuries already (only second player since Mark Waugh to do it in a world cup) and he's 8th on the list. Seems pretty tough.

What about Shoaib Akthar?

With the ball:

10 wickets at an average of 18

With the bat:

average of 72 with a strike rate of 141

Throw in fastest delivery of all time and I'd say he's had one heck of a tournament, they'll be calling him an allrounder next :D

BTW how does Tendulkar have 4 centuries, he has only scored 321 runs! He has only scored 1 century, I think you will find the '4' are referring to alltime WC centuries.

from the offical world cup website:

The Man of the Tournament is based on the cumulative Man of the Match results awarded by the ICC Match Referee.

After every game the ICC Match Referee selects the top three players. As well as being presented with a gold watch worth R12000, the Man of the Match also receives three points towards the Man of the Tournament award.

The second best player on the day receives two points and the third best gets one point.

The ICC will provide further updates on the Man of the Tournament standings as the ICC CWC 2003 progresses.

& ive been looking and there's no link for the man of the tournament - am i blind or something

Just as long as a few more if his edges are held by Gilchrist and the slips cordon.

They just seem to pop up and then disappear in the stats section every few days or so.

yes, 4 centuries in all World Cup matches he's played. I don't deny that he's a legend, BUT, these are the 4 centuries:

152 v Namibia (2003)
140* v Kenya (1999)
137 v Sri Lanka (1996)
127* v Kenya (1996)

Not exactly quality opposition there, apart from Sri Lanka. Highest other score is a 90 v Australia in 1996.

you are comparing two different things:
4 centuries - in his career
8th on list - this World Cup only

warnie was asked why the guys dont hold on to some of his chances& he said that its 'cause dizzie is faster thatn pidgeon thefore the ball flys off the bat faster.

if's that the case then why can they hold brett lee's chances?
