Has anyone heard an update on the Dean Buszan saga where the Eagles want him to go and play with their host club East Perth, while Buszan's WAFL club Peel Thunder want to keep him (since he's their best player).

Should he be made to move to the Eagles aligned club or should he be made to make his own decision? Either way I think he'll play for East Perth - since the Eagles wouldn't be happy if he goes against playing for their aligned WAFL team.

192 cm full forward
20 years old
kicked 30 goals in 6 rounds of the wafl last year before being injured and out of the rest of the season, including 8 one game
he got great raps from his coach who said he is very hard working and has bulked up from a scrawny kid to a very strong man in 2 years. was the strongest player at the draft camp last year, but was also 2 years older than most though, not very agile, but still more so than jacko id say,
his coach said he would be a bit like loewe

I reckon he should be aloud to make his own decision. This is where the host club scenario gets messy.

When you're on the rookie list it helps to suck up to your bosses (ie, WCE + KJ). He should go wherever the club tells him and hope he impresses them enough for them to promote him.

This might sound cold, but a 20yr old on the rookie list doesn't have too much time to impress the selectors and quite frankly he should consider himself lucky he got on it at all. Clubs tend to go for 17-18 yr olds for their rookie lists.

He should base his decision on which team he reckons is more likely to forward his career. No point going to a strong team where he'll spend his time on the bench. Think of the brownlow medalists of the past decade, only Wanganeen won it in the same year as his team won the premiership, which means that the stronger the team is the harder it is to stand out. On the other hand no brownlow medalists played for a bottom 4 team either.

Tough decision, I say go with what WC want.
