Just to let everyone know, it looks as though Ready will be out for the season. He needs a Knee Reconstruction - bad luck for him. I do feel sorry for him after doing all the hard yards pre-season.

he was one of the brink players...
with the list being cut to 35, and 4 more draftees that means a minimum of 7 players delisted at seasons end..., our list is young and we got rid of the excess baggage last year, he had to prove himself this year after 1 really good year then 2 average ones..., it may be more unlucky for him than first thought

terrible luck for the young guy, could have really taken the next step this year to secure a spot on the team!

I thought that it was subject to further arthroscopy and may be just 6 weeks. If he does need a reconstruction I wonder who will be elevated from rookie list.

If they delisted Read from the side at the years end, as someone was suggesting, i will absolutely go ape shit.
Ready could be up there in the best 20 or so players in the competition when he matures a bit. I hope the management see the same potential in him as i see cause i would HATE to see him cut.

I havent heard nothing either if no one has any conclusive evidence then i will expect him back in 6 weeks. Hes very talented and i dont think he was on the fringe for the cull.

I'd heard theyd be doing tests during this week to determine the extent of the damage.

I hope its not a recon job. He doesnt deserve it... Don't think hed be in danger of delisting though... there are quite a few who'd go before he did

A club can delist and pick the player back up for the next season. Club and player can agree to this to enable the club to get a full rack of players.

You want concrete evidence - he is going in today for the op - a recon - will be out for 5 to 10 months. Have heard it from the horses mouth himself....

Is that concrete enough for you all?

Personally I hate the guy.

But that said its always sad to see a player of promise go down and especially when he is such a major part of your team.

So come back soon

Is the recon a definite? because all i heard is that there's still too much swelling to tell what's wrong. I hope he's alright.

Absolutely tragic. I saw Read heaps of time in the offseason jogging on the beach and training at the oval accross the road. I hope the club and players really support him and keep him busy in some role. He's a fantastic player and a real 'tough nut' the club needs in the backline.
