MICHAEL Jackson, 50, has suffered a heart attack and died, gossip website TMZ reports.
Paramedics were unable to revive him.
TMZ were told: "when paramedics arrived, Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back."
Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.
The website reports he had been taken to hospital in LA after CPR treatment by paramedics who were called to his home.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were first at the scene of the singer's $US100,000-a-month rented home in Holmby Hills near Sunset Boulevard about 12.12pm (local time) to find him not breathing, the Los Angeles Times reported.
He died at UCLA hospital.
Jackson was reportedly planning a comeback and was living in LA while rehearsing a series of 50 sold-out shows in London, the Los Angeles Times has reported.
More to follow shortly
RIP MJ if true.

What's all this 'if true' stuff? When was the last time a death of an extremely famous person was wrongly reported in the media?
RIP Jacko.

CNN has confirmed it now.
Leaving aside all the allegations about him, his music in the 1980's was awesome.

Isn't it ironic that both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died on the same day.
One was a teenage boys fantasy, the other fastasied about teenage boys.
(Waits for the too soon comments!!!!:D)

He was a strange unit in his later years, but a great talent. A real shame he didn't get to kick off his tour, which he hinted could have been his farewell, but I guess the stress of preparing for that may have finished him :( Sad day indeed.

Hmmmm, maybe it was for the best then.
Good news for his kids if true... finally they might be able to lead a semi normal life.
Amazing his heart gave way before his face did.
Bloke was a kiddy fiddler, cannot pretend to be saddened by this news in the slightest.

His face is what, 10-20 years old, plastic takes hundreds of years to degrade ;)

I'm saddened but not shocked, for some reason I always saw him dying young, sucks it turned out to be true. :thumbsd:
He made some amazing pop music at the height of his career but his image is now somewhat tarnished by the pedofile accusations and pay offs. RIP Jacko.

A number of media outlets killed off the Queen mum about 10 years before see actually died. One of the British TV networks were doing an updated bio of the Queen mum for if he did suddenly died and some news services, like channel Seven, got the feed and believed it was real and went public with it getting interviews with Royalists.A few hours later they back tracked once they realised they'd stuffed up.
Frontline did a send up of the stuff up years ago.I think they used Ugly Dave Gray as the celebrity.

Today the story spread that Jeff Goldblum had died while filming in New Zealand (which turned out to be a hoax). It's always a 50/50 chance of being true.

That came on the back of 2 high profile deaths in a row, there was always going to be a fake third one.

My favorite of the MJ jokes:
Farah Fawcet arrived in heaven and god granted his new Angel one wish. She wished for all Gods children to be safe... So he killed Michael Jackson

Some dopes in the media did report it
Nine Network's Today show entertainment reporter, Richard Wilkins, reported news of Goldblum's death this morning.
ABC Radio said there were reports of the actor's death, but then spoke to New Zealand police, who said it was news to them.

I guess to some people Ed McMahon doesn't qualify as a high profile celebrity.

Wilkins said they were still waiting for confirmation on Goldblum's death, but it sounded like he genuinely believed he died. I'm sure he's learned from that.
Did anyone see the story in yesterdays Herald-Sun about Michaels brother Randy Jackson complaining about the media helicopters filming Michaels funeral last week ?
Beside the story they had a picture that they said was Michaels brother Randy Jackson. This is the Randy Jackson they had pictured
