Jon Davison is slapping the Windies all over the park 0-52 in 7 overs, is this that ONE game that happens every world cup where one of the big guys go down to the club cricketers?

Some of these Windies bowlers are idiots! Why keep bowling bouncers when they keep getting wacked up for 6?!

Davidson just brought up his Ton.

1/140

Well played by the lad. Just seeing the expression he showed alongside his batting partner gives you the confidence that one day these lesser mobs could be a worthy cricket nation - with perseverance.

Its taken one of the best catches of all time to dismiss him too....

Amazing stuff.

Jon Davison couldn't even make the Victorian squad this year, and has a first class average of 10.

Hell, his highest one-day score in Australia was a 32 for Victoria a few seasons back.

How can a guy who batted at number 9 for Victoria, make a ton against the West Indies?

Maybe the West Indies are suspect against blokes who can't bat and can't bowl. Cameron White should start packing his bag for the Caribbean.

He is but I think Phat was pointing out the fact that he did bat at 9 for the Vics & couldn't make this years squad & therefore he ended up at S.A.

As for Davo's innings, it was great. Very entertaining, a classic case of the pinch - hitter (which is what he is really!) coming off.

Still no signal!

I have not missed a ball, strange that !!'

Good idea from Dean Jones, any non-Test team that wins a game should get 6 points instead of 4 ....comments please ?

Spot on, hence the use of past tense.

Jon Davison is a hack, of the highest order.
Hell, if you can't get into Victoria's best 25 as a slow bowler, you're struggling.

Apparently Davo's gone to hospital to get his ankle x-rayed. He'd better hurry up if he wants to bowl his team to victory ;) .

First 9 doesn't show the ING final, then Foxtel goes blotto.

I loved the quote "Make him Prime Minister", referring to Davison.

Is he even a Canadian citizen? I know he was born there, but is that enough?

Still a funny comment :D.

W.I. 0/25 3 overs

Gayle out for 8, caught behind.

1/32 4.4 ovs

Lara in now... they're gonna wish they'd never got Gayle out.

Gayle might've been stiff, there was a noise but I'm not sure he hit it.

Davison is the first ever to score 100 for Canada in a ODI. (ICC Trophy matches not counted as ODI's)

While checking that out, I also noticed the curious statistic that Canada have batted first in every ODI they have played!

John Davison - proof positive that Shield cricket is stronger than international cricket.

That catch by Drakes to get him out was a beauty. Best I've seen in this World Cup so far - although Tony Cozier in the commentary box didn't seem to know too much about it.:p

Lara's gonna freakin' kill someone with that ball in a minute !!!

How's the Drakes catch. Think John Dyson ... but ONE-HANDED !!!

50 off 23 balls.

26 off one over.

A true classic no doubt.

Lara 50 off 23 balls, he'll beat Davo's record easily at this rate!

Windies 1/127 10.2

Bring on Davo!

BT
23 Feb 2003, 21:48
Davo strikes!!!

Hinds clean bowled.

I reckon Harris didn't know he was able to bowl as soon as he came on. It'd have to be the only reason why they waited till the 12 over to bring him in.

Windies going at 11.25 rpo now

2-135 12.1 ovs

just 68 to win off 37 overs.

One of the matches of the tournament I reckon. Certainly two of the best innings and the catch of the tournament.

Great stuff, shame no one could support Davison.

Must be teh great coaching he has received in SA or maybe it is the fresh Adelaide air.

Looks like he will be opening the Redbacks innings next year with Andy Flower!!!

Is that an admission you don't have enough home-grown talent to be competative? ;)
