Just watching the replay of the game for about the 4th time and just watched Taytes pass to Skipworth that resulted in the goal.

What I was wondering was did he spot Skippy and make a perfect pass or was it a poor shot at goal that got lucky?

If it was indeed a pass we have a very very special player on our hands? Even though i love him either way

He looked, he saw, he passed. Special indeed.

I don't think he was trying to pass it directly to skippy, but i also don't think he was going for goal. I think it was a kick to the top of the sqaure. If you look at the lucas set up he does the same thing. Puts it basically to the stop of the square and backs the players to goal from it. Smart play really.

Both were good passes. The one to Scotty was brilliant as he kicked it over their heads and all Scotty had to do was back up slightly. I didn't think it was a fluke.

More to the point: how the hell did Carlton let Tayte amble up the field all on his own? I was stunned at the fact that nobody bothered to man up on him. They just left it to the other guy - who never showed up.

I wasn't stunned when I found out he was running up the ground with nobody on him because the player he was playing on was Fev, only time I've seen him chase is when he wanted to kick his 100 goal.

Skipworth came straight off the bench as Pears ran past the back of the ecntre square. He spotted him alright.

Whether he meant to place it exactly where he did, who knows. He would have been fairly knackered after the run

When he was running down the wing, I thought I was watching Nathan Bock, very similar style.

Love the updated sig whomb :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:Figured it's the most I can stick it up Carlton without being a troll.
I had a nice little debate with 'The General' over our respective backlines; Pears made Fevola look pathetic, to be honest.

And to add insult to injury, Fev made himself look stupid. :p

Pears is a gun! He's the type of player we need with Presti likely to retire soon.

Looking forward to JA teaching him a football lesson on Friday:cool:

Should be a good matchup in all seriousness.

I was at the end where Skippy kicked that goal. Tayte had 3 or 4 bounces and when he was just about to kick it, he reailised there was no Essendon players in our forward line between the goal line to around 40m. All Carlton players were zoning. It was quite starange. That's why he handpassed it to Hocking I think. Then Hocking had no one to kick it to either. So he gave it back to Tayte, and that's when he saw Skippy running towards the goal square. I am 100% sure that he meant that...

A similar situation happened later in the game, when Lucas got the ball and just about to thump it in to our forward line, then realised that there was not a single player insight our 50, so he took a u turn and ran the opposite away and handpass it back wards and then got it back and spotted Lovett. (ie Lovett's mark over Hampson.)
