Does anyone know what is happening with this guy? Does he play for a WAFL team and is he likely to make a debut this year?

Travis plays for South Fremantle and yes he is definately likely to get a game this year.

He is about 6 foot 5, and has put on some bulk. A very talented player who can play CHB or CHF.

Will resume full training again this coming week after having a groin operation over the christmas season. Once he's had a few games for South and proves his worth, I think he could be a chance to work his way into the line up.

According to a profile on one of the footy websites is that he has grown 5-6cm in the past year and as a result has had many injuries and KJ was not willing to risk him considering his body was still developing.

From what I've read he is going to be the next big thing at not just the eagles but in the AFL as well.

If he's anything like his brother he'll be a good asset for us in the backline! Do you think the club might want him to take over the reins from McIntosh when he retires in the next year or two?

I just read that Gaspar is being considered for selection for the round 2 game. All he needs is to pass a fitness test.

Kemp and Cummings are also likely starters for round 2, with harding likely to be considered aswell.

Phil Matera might be available for the round 3 game and almost certain to play round 4.

I hope thats facts, not speculation.

www.realfooty.com.au (http://www.realfooty.com.au) and the herald sun, though i'm not sure if it was this weeks paper.

But www.realfooty.com.au (http://www.realfooty.com.au) is a pretty reliable source.

Yeah, actually after reading the article on realfooty again it says players considered for all competitions. So it might have meant he might be in consideretion to resume playing, but not necesarily AFL.

Go to realfooty and read the "club news" thing, the part on how it lists what has been happaning at your club today. It says all that stuff there.

As you all know Travis plays in the WAFL for South Fremantle. This weekend they have a bye and the Eagles are trying to get him a clearance to play for East Fremantle Reserves.

He is also playing in a Scratch match tonight for East Perth against another side (not sure who).

He wasn't listed in the team from what I heard on the news so it definately won't be his debut this round. He's only a young kid - should we be throwing him in the deep end or should we be giving him more time to develop in the WAFL?

Deep end i says.

Why develop him slowly, when at AFL level he would develop a lot quicker.

Travis Gaspar had a fairly bad game on Saturday. Brendan Fewster was on top of him and Earl Spalding had to move Gaspar up forward. Things seem to be a bit complicated if the Eagles want to develop Gaspar as a forward while East Fremantle are playing him each week at full back/center half back.

HEY! GOEAGLES. WRONG GASPAR. THE ONE YOU ARE REFERRING IS HIS BROTHER DAMIEN. BUT YOU ARE RIGHT FEWSTER THRASHED HIM. BUT FEWSTER CANNOT SEEM TO MAINTAIN THIS FORM AT AFL LEVEL.ALSO BROTHER OF DARREN FROM RICHMOND.

HOPEFULLY WE WILL SEE TRAVIS GASPAR IN THE NEAR FUTURE. BE INTERESTING TO HEAR IF ANYONE KNOWS IF HE PLAYED ON THE WEEKEND

Damien Gaspar was on Melbournes list and played probably 40 games. He had a terrible run with groin injuries and thats why he was delisted.

Damien plays for East Fremantle in the WAFL and Travis plays for SOUTH FREMANTLE. I dont think it will be too long before Travis gets a call up for the eagles.

Woops! Mistake on my part - I didn't realise there was another Gasper playing WAFL footy. Anyone know if they are related somehow?
