This was on SBS 2 tonight, and I finally got to see it. Was very impressed and have always been a big fan of Andy Lau, thought it was a terrific movie. I know Hollywood remade it as "The Departed", and although I haven't seen that I struggle to imagine how they could top the original, I love Hong Kong movies.
Damn, I'm just about to download this, would have loved to watch it on SBS2. Just watched The Departed which was superb.
Thought it was great, but it also made The Departed a non event for me.

Agree.
Actually thought The Departed was pretty bad......
great movie, thought it was far superior to the departed

Very excited to watch this then, if people think it is superior to The Departed.

Agreed, superior to The Departed, which I thought was overrated.
I haven't, however, seen the sequels. Be interested to hear the thoughts of those who have.

Just watched this. Liked some things from it, and some from The Departed. Overall a superb movie, the last 30 minutes are epic.

One of my favorite films of all time. The Departed half-butchered a masterpiece IMO, and to see Scorsese finally winning his first Best Director Academy Award (for a remake mind you) and thank the original film "InTernal Affairs" just made me furious. Not only did he get the title wrong, but the movie was also refered to as Japanese, when it's a Hong Kong film. At least have the decency to know the basics of a film (vastly superior to their own I might add) you're remaking you cheap bastards.
Infernal Affairs is a great film. Part 2+3 are also decent, though not on the level of the original. Both Lau (also directed it) and Leung put in fantastic performances, and it's a movie all mature film lovers should see.
