There's 9 players coming back from injury within the next 2 games, i was just wondering, after the way we played in that second half, do we really want to bring all these players back just as seems we may have found a good balance in our side.

These are the players coming back from injury:

Michael Braun - yes
Scott Cummings - yes
Travis Gaspar - no
Greg Harding - no
Glen Jakovich - yes
Dean Kemp - yes
Phil Matera - yes
Chad Morrison - yes
David Sierakowski - no

Most of those players are important players to our side, and i think everyone would agree with at least 7 of those selections.

Greg Harding, there would probably be a few people who would bring him back, but not a hole lot.

David Sierakowski. This is the difficult one. We've had problems at CHF, but we seem to found something in Cox at Ruck and Gardienr at CHF.
Should we rush him back. The questions that needto be asked are
1. do we need a back-up CHF, incase Gardiner/Cox don't fire.
2. is Sierakowski underdone
3. will he upset the balance

I agree with the players youve chosen but i dont think we should put Siera on the outer now that we've seen the Cox/Gardiner combo.

Siera was recruited as a CHF and i dont think hes had a chance to prove himself yet, but if brought back im sure he'll do OK.

Greg Hardings a difficult one, like Siera, he hasnt been able to prove himself yet and should be given that opportunity before the match commitee forgets about him, dont forget, we traded Metro for him and id hate to see that trade go to waste http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/smile.gif

Ok I'm going to list what I think the team should be for this week which will include some players coming back from injury and for the ones that I do not include I will give a reason.

FB: Carroll McIntosh Morrison
HF: Wirrapunda Jakovich Collica
C: Prior Kemp Braun
HF: Wilson Sierakowski Merenda
F: Pe Matera Cummings Williams
R: Gardiner Cousins Fletcher
Int: Taylor Cox Ph Matera Jones
Emg: Kerr Banfield

Braun, Morrison, Jakovich, Cummings and Kemp are crucial to how we do this year so they need to be back in the deep end straight away. I believe that we need Sierra so that our CHF line doesn't break down as Gardiner cannot always play there. Ph Matera is probably down on match fitness hence he starts on the bench. Harding I believe will always be an emergency as he just aint up to it. Gaspar is still bit underdone so still needs WAFL experience and match time.

Vis - i disagree. What is with Banfield and Kerr out of the side, neither have played badly and both deserve a game this weekend.
Kerr has played beyond expectations with 19 posessions against Geelong and 20 against Sydney, he also kicked a goal in each game. Banfield was a big part in the Eagles comeback last week with something like 12 posessions in the 3rd quarter.

Here is what the team should look like.

Wirrpunda McIntosh Prior
Morrison Jakovich Collica
Braun Kemp Kerr
Wilson Seirakowski Jones
Merenda Cummings Matera
Gardiner Cousins Fletcher

Int Taylor Cox Banfield Ph Matera

We are playing a tall side and hence need tall players. Neither Kerr or Banfield are very tall. Thats my reasoning...

I actually agree with jod's team. I tried to find a spot for williams but there just isn't one.

Our team is quite good in terms of talent and skill, it's how they perform as a team on field that will determine our season.

Who did we draft from hawthorn? Carroll or Collica, i can never remember.

Glen Jakovich - yes
Dean Kemp - yes

David Sierakowski - yes

Sierra is our only real CHF option. Against a tall Saints side he would be an asset.
Braun was underdone and can't have trained a lott since. The midfield was good in second half last week without him and we have Kempy back too. Give him another 2 weeks in the WAFL.

what a cruel blow for Sierakowski.

A lot rests on Dean Cox, now!!!

Now, for sure, play Dean Cox in the ruck from the beginning and play Gardiner at CHF.

Throw Cox in the deep end and see what happens, we ain't got anything to lose.

And it apparently happened when King knocked him out in rnd1, he just aggravated it at training.

Thats just great isn't it, King KO's a player, as a result the player screws his knee up and there is a chance he will never achieve his potential or even play again. And all king could say was "it was an accident". We all know thats a ****!ng lie.

Did king even get suspended for that?

Thats the 2nd time i have seen delibrate recklesness almost end a players career. This incident and the one where Andy Cole(Man U) "accidently" tackled simon colosimo at knee height and cost him a year of his playing life.

Players who cause that sort of injury should be forced to pay for the rehabilitation.

That sort of shit pisses me off http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/mad.gif !!!!!!

Thats absolutely shocking news on Seira! Now thats Read and Seira gone for the season, Embly gone for 4 weeks, Glass 7 weeks!!!

GOD DAMN INJURIES!!! F*CK OFF!!!

Ok onto the matchups this weekend, im on AFL.com and checking the teams for this weekends game against the Saints. The team apparently looks like this.

Carroll McIntosh Wirrpunda
Morrison Jakovich Collica
Prior Kemp Fletcher
Taylor Cox Matera
Kerr Wilson Ph Matera
Gardiner Cousins Banfield

Int from Chambers Haynes Hunter Merenda Munro Turnball Williams.

Cummings not in the team???? He just missed out on playing in the Sydney match so what is holding him up from playing in this game. Carroll again retained after two pretty bad games. Cox at CHF?? They are playing Everitt in a forward pocket so Capuano is doing the rucking so switch Gardy and Cox and let the 2 second ruckmen go at it and release Gardiner up forward. Of course they will all line up on the day im sure in totally different positions but what disturbs me is Cummings not in the side?????

Apparently cummings injury hasn't come up as well as the club expected. He should be right for the derby, i hope.

i hope the Cummings injury isnt like the Cousins injury of last year.

If you remember right Cousins just missed selection for the next game but was out for the next 5 weeks or so

Lets hope that doesnt happen

No, that's not crap!!!

7 foot tall, 20 stone, super fit guys just cannot be allowed to mame other players.
If a player goes for a spoil with a huge fist he should be accountable for that action. He should make contact with the ball. If he fails to hit the ball and decks a an opponent then his action is reckless. If your not competent to make an accurate spoil then if you do so you are acting recklessly. Same thing as driving, if you haven't learned to drive properly and end up killing someone because you couln't steer the car properly you are guilty of reckless driving and you get punished. King got away with his reckless play that has ended up in a player being out for a season. Now that is plainly WRONG http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/frown.gif

Im not to confident now without Cummings, im never confident without Cummings. I think our forward line falls apart when he isnt playing. Shit shit shit.
